The biggest U.S. mobile operator Verizon Wireless and Skype announced strategic collaboration today, which allows Verizon Wireless customers to make calls with Skype.
Verizon Wireless phones with Skype built in will reach the market in March.
The new, 3G smartphones integrated with Skype application andmesidepaketiga Verizon Wireless customers can use the various options offered by Skype.
This opens the possibility of Verizon customers to make and receive Skype voice calls over Skype – the world’s most popular mobile network in the United States.
They are also able to call Skype Out discount international phone tariffs and to keep text conversations with other Skype users.
Verizon Wireless vice president and marketing manager John Stratton said that the two companies combining services will bring significant added value to its customers.
“Our more than 90 million customers will have the opportunity to make unlimited calls hundreds of millions of Skype users around the world. Already in March, we offer 9 new features by phone.”
Verizon Wireless is the largest U.S. wireless network provider serving more than 91 million customers.
