Oppo Reno 5G was first presented by Oppos parent company OnePlus in the end of April 2019.
As for the OnePlus phone, Reno 5G also features magnificient tech specs that should put smile on every mobile geeks face. It has Spandragon 855 processor, 256GB of internal memory, stunning 8GB of RAM and amazing camera with 10x hybrid zoom (optical 8.3x).
The phone has been available from July 2019 but we managed to get our hands on this device just now and here are the results of our deep testing
Oppo Reno 5G (price about $899 USD) has not been since the lack of 5G availability in most countries but it is indeed truly great cellphone!
Design of Reno 5G
The design of the Reno is striking: because the front camera (selfiecamera) is hidden in the screen and only scrolls upwards when needed, the front of the phone has virtually no screen edges. The speaker and the Flash are also hidden next to the selfie camera. The main camera shoots with 48 megapixels.
According to Oppo, the popup optical zoom mechanism is reliable and does not break quickly. They tested in lab 200,000 times up and down without breaking.
Also, the promise of Oppo is to make better pictures in very dark conditions than that one can see with the eye.
Charging Oppo 5G
All variants have VOOC 3 as fast charging. This is the blazing fast charging technology from Oppo that allows the phone to be full again in no time. In 30 minutes, the battery is already from 0 to 75 percent. However, no Reno has wireless charging.
With this smartphone, Oppo becomes competitor for the Huawei P30, the Xiaomi Mi 9 and the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro. All these phones cost between 500 and 800 euros and are just under the flagship of iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Huawei P30 Pro.
