Nokia brings major firmware update for N97.
Nokia has major firmware update to its flagship – Nokia N97. The update replaces inter alia, the manner of scrolling through lists: kinetic scrolling is now, just like other smart phones.
Nokia, the Nokia software update during World promised, but now the software come out, says the development team. This Nokia N97 2.0 software is much more user friendly and many major bugs have been fixed with this firmware.
The changelog is includes:
- improved battery life
- new version of Ovi Maps
- better handling in Nokia Ovi Store
- Better music quality
One of the main changes is the addition of kinetic scrolling.
Nokia had different method of scrolling implemented in Symbian S60v5: scroll one item is called by grasping and then downwards to sweep, instead of upward sweep.
You can download and update your Nokia N97 firmware to v2.0 phone using the Nokia Software Updater
All you need for this is internet connection and data cable for your phone.

Nokia has also promised similar update for the 5800 XpressMusic, but the new software for that device is not available for download yet.
