  1. it’s an awful phone, i really wish i read the reviews before i bought it. I’ve it 6 months now, and if i turn it off it can take upto 4 trys before i can actually use it because it will just go to a blan screen. As a result my alarm didn’t go off when i turned my phone of at night this happened twice and i now have to leave it on at night. Two days ago, it just stopped ringing/beepin when i got a sms. It no longer recognises it, so i have to physically go into my inbox to see if i got a txt, and no my phone is not on silent.

  3. Hey guys,I bought this fone for my sister yesterday…Thpught it was shitty as 5800 coz of its slow touch response…but i’m happy dat i spent my money on this fone..
    you have wifi, touch screen, AWESOME speakers, and lots of thinhs..What else do you need? AND LASTLY READING ABOVE COMMENTS > YOU DONT HAVE TO HAVE 3G FUNCTION TO BE A GUD FONE!

    Left it in to be repaired and still having the same problems. Would not recommend it very poor

  5. Nokia 5630 is better and is more reliable than 5530. I had 5530 and now am using 5630 and am very pleased! advise you to buy 5630.

  6. i have N5530, problem with this phone? REALLY SLOW!!! the day i got it, bought a sim but everytime i open an app it takes forever to open, even when replaying to a text message. sucks! will not recomment this model!

  11. Most of the phone users in the Phils doesn’t use 3G anyway so it is not actually necessary to have it in your phone Phil. users.

  14. Awsome phone, no proplems so far. I hesitated at first coz i have the N97, but I think its brilliant! Scroll’s a bit laggy and dosen’t have 3g…SOD 3G ANYWAY IT NO GOOD!!!!!
    I think that a phone dosen’t need 3G coz wifi better, free and only slightly slower.

  18. im sorry to any haters out there but this phone is an awsome piece!! ive had it for 2 months now, i did experiance the problem with it turning off when i recieved a call however i took it back to the store they repaired it and ive not had any trouble since!

    The phone is great quality, nice screen, good responsive touch pad, and the wifi is unbeatable!

    so if your looking for an affordable phone that has some pretty nice features this is the one for you! 🙂

  19. This phone sucks. They claim it is PDA but you can not use it for opening PDF files if you want to open pdf file you have to buy app from ovi store for $10. Phone hangs sometimes in the middle of the call and then only way you can get it to work is to restart the phone. So if you want to buy $200 music player rather than PDA phone buy this crap.

  20. Hi, i got this mobile 2 months back. This set has a problem when we open camera it get hangs up. it wont allow restart.. we only need to remove battery and re-assemble it. then only works. Before purchasing make sure that there is no hardware problem

  24. hey guys, the reason your phone turns itself off while on calls is b/c you set the sensor to on, if you turn the position of the phone with t he homescreen downwards or slightly that direction, it may turn drop the calls altogether. and the reason the phone hangs is b/c of the built in memory full so move what you can to the memory card or upgrade to 8gb card. mine never hanged again after I freed the phone’s memory. if it hangs after you free the phone’s memory, push the end call and it will revert to menu. try see if it works same as my phone. 5530

  27. Hey people. I’m from India and 3G is just gonna be launched in a few months here. So i have no clue about the ground realities and working of 3G. I know the advantages and its high speed and stuff, but truly how important is it? My internet usage on mobile phone isnt that high but thats coz i have a high speed data card on my laptop. What are the charges difference between the normal GPRS and 3G in other countries on a general level. To access a page like facebook, is 3G used or GPRS? and how is it different in the two?? Please help cause i m really confused between 5230 or 5530.

  29. This phone is awesome i have had it now for 2 days and the touchscreen is very responsive to other phones. Don’t go on the bad reviews. You won’t regret as the prices are less comparatively 5800.

  30. Been using N5530 for almost 6 months now but never experienced the “sudden-end-call” problem. Dropped the 5530 twice, I think. The only problem I’ve had is the sudden crashing of the web browser. And sometimes, while I’m texting, the keypad screen suddenly reverts to the normal screen (the one with the lines). And it suddenly restarts itself automatically! Idk if the restart thing happens because I’ve dropped the phone.

    Oh, and the battery life = kinda fail.

    But it’s a great phone. 😀

  31. i have had this phone for at least 6 monthes and up until 3 monthes ago i thought it was a great phone! then it all went downhill. three monthes ago it deleted ALL of my apps. then the next monthe after that it deleted ALL 200 of my contacts. now, this monthe, first it started not having the alarms in my phone go off to wake me up in the morning, then the alarms started going off at random times like 3:13 in the afternoon, THEN it wouldnt tell me i received a new text message, i ended up with 18 unread messages in my inbox. NOW my phone doesnt tell me when i get a phone call or voicemail. CUSTOMER SERVICE is HORRIBLE. i suggest you DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS PHONE!

  32. this is a really cool phone. i like to think of it as a “back to basics” phone. anyway, just wanted to tell you guys that the new update (v30) fixes most of the bugs found on the previous firmware version (v20), so make sure you back up your stuff and UPDATE.

  33. i bot this phone 2 days ago the phone is simply gr8…though a bit slow for multitasking…but its awesome in stereo sound quality etc many many features i gatta lil problem here

  37. I have tried to download an attachment through gmail by using my nokia 5530 xpress music.
    The actual file size was 174 kb, but after downloading i can see the attachment picture (jpg) as only 3KB size with low clarity.
    Can you please advise me to download the file with full size.

  40. Hi Friends, I have bought Nokia 5530 Xpressmusic at the rate of JOD 145/-. It looks nice and stylish mobile, (3.20 Mega pixel, Wi Fi, Wireless connection, touch screen etc).

    comparing with other brands Nokia is always better than others.

  46. @lianne its a proximity sensor not a camera..whenever u recieve a call nd u want to silence it jus face the screen towards floor, the call becomes silent nd also it can be used to snooze alarm in de same manner..

  47. one problem that m experiencing with dis phone s that its not that fast as compared to normal touchscreen phones..sometimes de screen goes totally blank nd hav to take out de battery nd restart it again..don kno what s de problem..

  49. hi guys i have been using this mobile since 2 months and i faced no problem. I love the mobile. it has all the features i need. If any one wants a 3G and GPS in this mobile then talk to the nokia priority dealer, it will cost INR 11750 . This is really a good mobile. It has a good camera. I recomend this mobile. If any one wanna buy a good mobile within 12000.
