Samsung and Google have announced the Nexus S smartphone.
This is the first phone running the latest Android 2.3 version also called as Gingerbread. The Nexus S is powerful smartphone with the latest multimedia features.
Together with Google, Samsung had the ambition to push the Android platform even further forward and create smartphone that is both highly functional and offers amazing user experience.
Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread is the fastest version of Android OS to date. The new platform includes new keyboard with multi-touch support, internet calling (VoIP) and new user interface. The Nexus S Android includes some interesting features such as Wi-Fi hotspot support, multitasking and all the Google mobile services like Google Search, Gmail, YouTube and Google Maps. The Nexus S also has access to more than 100 000 widgets and apps in the Android Market.
For an optimal viewing experience, the Nexus S is equipped with Samsung’s Super AMOLED touchscreen. The 4-inch display has ergonomic design that is slightly bent to fit well against your ear and in your hand (see the image on top). With 1 GHz processor Samsung applications run smoothly enough. You can view HDTV quality multimedia content and 3D graphics and they look sharp on the display.

Also, you can create beautiful images in the Nexus S, which has an internal memory of 16 GB. The smartphone has 5 megapixel camera and camcorder to the rear and front VGA camera. The gyroscope sensor gives you smooth gaming experience as the smartphone.
- Samsung Nexus S is already on sale in the US and UK and will be available in the rest of Europe in the first quarter of 2011. Nexus S price in Bestbuy.com is $199 USD in the US in case you sign contract with T-Mobile and should be around 500 Euros in Europe without contract. What is the unit cost with subscription is still unknown.
