Why the MP3 music files on my phone can not be used as ringtones for my phone? The only files that can be used as ringtune my phone records and files are midi. How can I do mp3 files as the ringtone on my phone?

  1. Because the music recording companies have legally defined those things as two different uses, two different mediums, and therefore charge seperately for each one.

    Other phones/carriers may allow it, but it’s not a technical problem – it’s just that those companies have secured both types of rights to the files.
