I am very much glad to have this phone. I’ve recently bought it. But I am facing problem while searching for theme for Sony Ericsson W395. As I could mot get any theme from any website. It would be very helpful for me if you can provide any solution.

hahaha! me too.. i just bought my new SE w395. i asked my friends who have sony ericsson unit to send me themes via bluetooth. but it seems the format of my phone’s theme is not compatible to theirs. so i browsed the net to find one but i also had the same problem as you guys.. i can’t find one. maybe because the model is still new that’s why the availability of the theme is still limited. just a guess..

I found it quite annoying to msg with as the letters are so small, and the calender system is not as user friendly as the previous mobiles i purchased. It may be good for music , but it isn’t for working purposes.

well.. i have been facing the same prob too.. as in the themes i cant find it anywhere on the internet.
and the msg system is odd..
usually we dont have to save the msg and it will be send out but for this phone we have to save it and if too much msg, it will say:”memory full, send without saving?” actually this is not needed…
i do hope that the themes for this phone would come out soon cause that whenever a new phone is out there should at least be some themes for ppl to download it or at least receive the themes from other ppl, but it doesnt match, it doesnt happen to all sony phone except for this.. is really disappointing..

wtf? an uncompatible se phone holy sh*t. when I first saw this phone I drooled with delight,and with Father’s Day around the corner my eyes dialated,now after listening to one the many features se phones r famous for, I’ll have to search for another. For Mother’s Day I bought my wife the TM506,activated her bluetooth and immediately pulled a theme from one of the sites that I visit from another model, no problem, i don’t know……

If you want music only then buy it. If you want a phone as well then don’t bother. Not compatible with other SE phones, extremely basic, very poor functionality.

I think you hav to use a program called x++ to load the themes.I used to have w580i an by using this software I used to upload flash themes on the phone. It also slows you to delete them useless protected files such us ringtones. I think that’s the only way of uploading a theme and using it on w395i.
If you will download this software make sure you read the tutorial befoure you use it becouse it’s pretty complicated to use

Guys, do not waste your time in looking for new themes for this phone as it does NOT support it.Your efforts will just be futile.You can only use the preinstalled themes that comes with the phone when you buy it. You will just waste your time ranting all you want.

i still have the old k790i but its rock solid and bulky and very sturdy dropped it 2 times myself ! donno how many times it was dropped b4 bought it for seconds @5.4k lol ! and it has awesome java and theme support + music is also cool except the stereo speakers have weakened saddest thing is its production is stopped !

FYI, SE W395 does not support themes other than stored in the mobile. So you cannot try any other themes. Hope this gives answer for your long search.

The price of Sony Erisson W395 is 135 euros in European Union.
That makes about 193 dollars, but it should be a bit cheaper in the United States and Canada.

go to sony ericsson website, download the newest theme creator, there is an option for the W395 model, get the pictures you want and use the easy to use wizard to create any theme you like, have fun

This phone cannot use java apps. trying to install google maps / opera mini gives ‘contact operator for java settings’ error. Also cannot be used as moden despite sony site saying it can. I hate to negative but this phone is a con unless they quickly release firmware for it that sorts out the above. The phone hardware is capable, it’s firmware is not.

i bought this phone recently and i feel it is perfect phone. just except when you are playing music the battery runs out faster. but that is obvious. and those who are not finding themes or games for this phone should know that one buying any phone of walkman series must know that it is emphasized on music and sound. as far as other functions are concerned a phone on which u can listen, speak and send sms is enough. perfect phone with reasonable price.

The battery backup is quite satisfactory!
It is also price efficient!

Hi guyz, i bought ma w395 a month ago from the mobile store, and it works like shit. this is ma first phone and al the glory of having a new mobile went down the drain on the 3rd day itself. whenever i play any song via music player it hangs, cnt do anything but remove the battery. nw whn i try to start a java web app it says “please contact your operator for java internet settings”, wat the f**k. what am i suppose to do? someone plz help me. cnt find anything on net. I have also purchased this phone .. I was a big fan of sony ericon i used z550i before this one .. seems like there are a lot of compatibility issues ..
1) it did not copy the phone numbers properly from my older phone .. for some reasons .. the name seems reversed.. last name first and vice- verca I have tried to change the opion to reverse the order in new phone .. but no help it remains the same
2)It does not accept or send buisness card from /to older sony ericson phones like .. Z5501 and I have also checked wid cybershotphone if you try sending a business card, It sends a blank message instead
3) As is much evident from the previous posts .. the themes… we cant send theme even from other sony phones. the format is not supported ..
I guess this phone is not backward compatible .. I am really disappointed .. any advice

Very disappointed. Like going back to the dark ages. The w595 was much better but was broken beyond repair, and having this phone is like taking a huge step backwards. The only good feature is the keypad which is easy to use. Otherwise, the photos are rubbish and texting is not as neat as on the w595. When my upgrade comes through I’ll be disposing of this piece of rubbish.

but this model is purely basic in MEM card, camera, FM, but good in speakers(BASS). Music lovers loves this mobile….

In conclusion, i happy using this phone although got many problem… what can u do if u already purchase this phone??? just accept n use it!!

I know, signal receiving depends on the operator/company, but it depends on the terminal as well. 1.poor camera(like vga)
2.No Picture quality(pictures will come crispy)
3.When u play music ur phone will be struck. you
con’t do anything.
4.Equalizer will be changed automatically for every song..You have to set manually..
5.poor Head-phones

Never Never buy this mobile
It hangs at least 2 times a day. And that too when you or on call. Battery life is very low. Head phones are really big.

many people say this phone is brilliant others say it is rubbish not many say anything in between.
many people complain many things however not all are true…
1. the camera having burst setting where it takes several pics at once – you can turn this off!!!
2. sound not loud enough – i would say its too loud! the sound is perfectly loud enough
3. it doesn’t play wma’s – download some free software from the internet that converts them, simple and easy!
4. it breaks when wet – don’t most electrical things?!!
there are many other complaints that really aren’t realistic.
my view on this phone is that its brilliant for the price i bought it (£48) however it does freeze occasionally (sorted by taking the batery out and putting it in again) and you cant do absaloutly everything you can do with other phones. but overall i think this is a good by if you get it at the right price.

se w 395 is in fact a sagem updated by SE to be a walkman phone…
bad :
camera sucks, no auto focus(k750 2 mpx camera had that),low quality pictures.
no java (for games), no themes, Images cannot be rotated or zoomed
good things:
looks nice
with good speakers and music interface
good battery
it is a good phone for the people who listen music, talk and do not use phone to take pictures and play games
i will rate this PHONE 7/10

I SO wouldn’t suggest anyone buy this phone. I’ve had mine since Oct ’09. Loved the look and the camera is good enough in an emergency – however that is where the problems start. SE support have been most unhelpful and I still can’t download my pics to my PC. So I intend to change it to something other than SE phone

This phone is a valuable and cheap walkman phone from sony ericsson that is capable of outputting a very high range of music. Made by SE specialised for music.
I own this phone and I found the sound very very impressive. It went high upon my expectations giving a fabulous audio experience both with the headset and loudspeaker. This walkman doesn’t provide headphones with buds but an ordinary type, still it gives much superior sound. It has walkman player v2.0 that has the effect. Battery is also nice and stays a minimum of 1.5 days if we don’t play much music a day. There are some limitations with this phone such as a)No extra themes are accepted
b)Camera clarity is a bit low(Doesn’t allow zooming at megapixels while taking snaps).
c)Comparatively slower than the other walkman phones(I have a w700i)
But the sound outruns all these limitations.
If you are looking for an audio entertainment, definitely go for this. It won’t disappoint you.

OMG DO NOT GET THIS PHONE IT’S CRAAAAAAAAAAAAP.
– the set up looks like its designed for a three year old
– you cant rotate your pictures (so you cant ever take portrait photos)
– the 2mp camera has to be the worst i’ve ever seen (even for a phone)
– it freezes up the minute you put more than 10 songs on it
– the buttons are small and reeaaaally dodgy
– and the themes are proving really hard to find

4) Cut & Paste the .JAR/.JAD files here

6) On your mobile; MENU > FILE MANAGER > OTHER > Select INSTALL for the game you want

I was olso expierencing such problems with the phone if i played music it would just make a blurring noise and it would only stop if i took the b3 out. I’m using this cell for last 6 months…..i found this piece of no use…..not even good msg memory yaaaaar……FFFFFFFF SE……

Just downloaded Themes Creator & realised that the phone doesn’t even support hthe themes made by a SE program! So, overall, NO themese can be sent/downloaded to this phone.
PROS:
1) User-friendly walkman interface
2) Decent battery life (esp. when using
Walkman)
3) Games are downloadable to phone(Just not
motion gaming)
4) Internet use isn’t bad, can watch videos on
Youtube, etc
5) Sound quality & BASS is great, considering I
like my music.
CONS:
Camera is more like VGA; even at 2MP (My old
1) Phone has HUGE hang time
2) SMS system is poor
3) SMS memory can only hold approx. 100 texts?
4) Again, hang time when looking through File
Manager
5) No CD or User Manuel
6) Button doesn’t work on the earphones
7) NO motion gaming; Anything SE says about it
is BS.
Samsung E840 looked better with same 2MP)
I wouldn’t recommend buying this phone unless you have a tight budget to spend on a phone. Overall, the phone is NOT user-friendly.

I saved money and bought this phn, but just moments after startin the phn I repented buying it. What the f**k is this, walkman phn with no MEGA BASS, can’t get new themes, no copy paste function while messaging,ugly font used,can’t create a back up of contacts in the memory card, v cards ar not compatible, no pc suite,the interface is also bad not typical SE type, camera quality is poor(w810i has also got a 2mp camera but the quality is so good)! a frndly advise…… buy this phn if u r only lukin for grace n music. camera’s result is gud wen u open the pics on computer. the keypad is quite gid if u r a msg freak but it wnt do u any gud as its msg memory is only abt 80 msgs. so unless u r lukin 4 grace n music, dnt buy it……i had rather say buy any of the c series of SE if u r lukin 4 camera.though it is not economical.

se w395 phone it has white blank screen apprearence. i get the messeges and calls but cant read them. turned off and on many times but no change.help

hey comparing with Nokia 5130 xpress music, its not user friendly. but the speakers do their best.
not user friendly
messag settings are poor
picture quality low
slide phones get damaged soon if not used well
excellent speakers, head set, camera
voice record only for 30 seconds

I used this mobile for 9 months and I am irritated of this mobile since last 8 months.
This mobile is a blunder that is made by Sony Ericsson company and still they are growing mistakes by not making its features to be maintained.
Actually all mobile of Sony Ericsson are worse to use. If anybody wants to purchase he/she has to keep 1st option to Nokia, 2nd Option to Nokia, 3rd option to Samsung, 4th option to LG, 5th 6th 7th option to any other mobile and last option to SONY ERICSSON.
SONY ERICSSON MOBILES HAVE GOOD LOOKS, GOOD FEATURES BUT ONLY FOR VERY SHORT LIFE.
I WISH, WHY DOES NOT COMPANY GOES DOWN FROM INDIAN MARKET?

I really hate this phone. No themes. The keypad is hard to tap. Two things it’s great at is the design and the music. I really hope someone can teach me how to install themes into the phone. I’ll be very grateful

thats a very bad mobile.l bought it one year ago but after two months it’s display worked very badly. I gave to service center but they didn’t repair it so i throw this mobile to the hell.THATS A VERY BAD MOBILE.

2) Msg sending limited to 10 persons at once
(generally in other models 20 persons at once)
3) if using 2GB Mem card and if we fill it more
than 1GB , hen Operations are very slow
4) If we have videos in our mobile , when we
enter in to the videos folder , operation is
damm slow. (Irritating…..)
and more more more other Disadvantages.
So Friends My advise is : NOT TO TAKE THIS MOBILE. And let inform to Your Friend’s also…

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.
I bought this phone and at first I thought it was awesome but its not guys! It is really terrible, and it has already been spoiled 3 times. Also, there’s no themes and the graphics are not good. The camera is also not good plus the connection is slow. seriosuly, DO NOT BUY THIS. The only advantage is that it has loud music but thats not worth buying the phone anyway!
So please do the smart thing – DONT BUY IT.

i bought this phone..i think its a failure model…bcoz my phone hangs frequently.. only if i switch it off and then on in again it is working else its getting hanged.. and moreover i too face the same prob, im not getting themes for this mobile…

Yeah.. All of you are right friends..
The problems all you’ve faced are true.
No themes, hangs very frequently, and after a certain period of time you will find your games and applications have been deleted and you can’t install any more.
Finally, its a failure model and my valuable advice to not to buy this phone. Its completely outdated. Good luck…
