hey can anyone please tell me where i can buy those funky back covers for corby pro? i just got it and it’s really nice. though it could really use a flash for the camera but overall the phone is superb. it functions are superb as well. the speed is magnificent it never hanged on me not even once. this phone is a must buy for teens who love to be online while on the go.

Hi All,
I just got the phone a month back. Its features are pretty good but a bit slow. I was very happy with it until a week back when the speaker (regular) stopped working all of a sudden. I couldn’t hear the calls and had to use the hands-free or the speaker phone. As this had happened in less than a month, I placed complaint at Samsung, to which they redirected me to the nearest service-center. When I got there I was shocked to know that I was not the only one facing the problem. There was long list of people facing issues with their Samsung phones, the table in the service center was full with all the different corbys, a few of them were corby-pros. Upon investigation the engineer at the center informed me that mine was the third case with the similar problem, most of the others had problems with the batteries and that this was caused because of the sliding keyboard of the phone. I anyways got it fixed and it seems to be working fine now, but then again you never know what might happen.
I bought it from CROMA, Malad, Mumbai for 11,280/-.
I would suggest you guys to rethink before buying it.
I have put my case and thoughts in-front you all, the final decision is yours.

This phone is gr8 and has unique features WHICH most of the phones lack at this range of 11kRs. But i have heard that few people have complaints…i think it may be true but my corby pro never troubled me…
Corby Pro is one of the best phones of Samsung…

I’ve had this for a day. I agree a bit slow but i just got rid of a LG phone and it was definately a lot slower and broke twice. So i find this one not that bad. with all the features and smartunlock feature I absolutely love this phone. It has everything i want and more and it just takes getting use to.

had this phone for about 2months now and im satisfied with it. there are several additions id like to have like to be able to write hangul (korean) and get to add more themes, plus availability of fashion jackets. but overall, its an okay phone for its price.
i just have one problem, with the cartoon theme. the birds perched on the tree are always sleeping. cant find anything on the settings to change it.day or night theyre ZZZZzzzz. bothers me alot. hehe.

Hi All,
After I baught it, I could not use it for 10 days. Now when I first used it, it is getting hot with in 5min.
I baught in MobileStore, he says he can not do any thing about it. Service center guys says they can not replace it. They say replacement can be done with in 7 days only.
They said they changed the mother board… still same problem exist. I gave it to service center again…
Overall I had worst experience in buying this mobile. No one is there to feel the responsibility….

I havent had this phone yet but im getting it for my birthday (12th July). Ive read diff’rnt sites about this phone and its gr8. Tagateth has a problem but she fixed it…Im from Kenya and there u cant get a fake phone from a good shop…huh…anyway my question is what colors they come in…cant wait…7 days away

i bought this phone the first day it came out and i know a couple of people with the same phone as me …. we are all experiencing the same prolblems with the phone from not txting right off the start having to change settings. i feel the screen scratches really easy and the volume button broke and jamed. rate this phone 4 out of 10 easly….

ME TOO. i thought it was only me but after a while and after i went to rogers, it was magically fixed on my friend’s birthday so i dunno about you. and it is pretty heavy but i think it’s good. although the touch screen isn’t sensitive enough, i’m gonna have to say it’s a good phone to use. yeeaa… and the cases arn’t out yet. i tried Pacific Mall in Toronto and i couldn’t find one store that had one. it’s just too new! wait a month or two (or more, i dunno) and you could probably get one.

hi friends i purchased corby pro from ezone indiranagar bangalore. it was getting hot within 2 to 5 min of talk. luckily i went to service center after 5 days and they issued a DOA certificate, and i got a new mobile phone. it is working fine but after 15 days its del key is not working any more. i went again to service center but this time they refused to change it. they were asking for repairing it. they told its a user problem and very simple one. i didn’t give the phone for repair. bcoz i did not want to open a new phone. Finally i am using as such. If you do have any Solution for it.plz do tell me. Overall i am neither satisfied nor happy with this phone, and also the weight and sliding key pad creates problem while handling. go for some other slim models.

hey this phone isn’t what it looks we actually are unable to install any games and software into it another thing is the operating system which i think is developed by samsung only for samsung.then comes it’s
resistive touch which is both old and irresponsive often than the capacitive once we see now(which obviously is great) .the phone dosen’t have a single application on the internet.so most of you have to be dissapointed.so i suggest not going in for this one cause once you fall into this dirty pit made by samsung u might be happy for 1 or 2 days then comes the agony and greif which is everlasting and would haunt you till the phone is with u.

# GPRS/EDGE/WAP – GPRS ALWAYS GIVES PROBLEM WHILE CONNECTING
# 2.8″ inch QVGA Touch Screen Display – WORST TOUCH SCREEN WHICH ANY PHONE HAS TILL DATE IN MARKET
# 3 Megapixel camera with Video Recording – WORST CAMERA, BAD THAN A 1 MP CAMERA
# Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g – WORKS ONCE IN 10 TIMES, MOST SUCKING PART OF THIS PHONE.
# A-GPS – NEVER WORKED TRIED ALL OPTIONS AVAILABLE ON NET
Just 4 months old phone, touch screen has gone bad, service center experience was horrifying. They took one month took my phone 3 times stil the issue is there.
At the service center 60% of the people were having CORBY probs.
SAMSUNG Corby is the worst phone in the market.
PLEASE DONT BUY IT.

i have corby pro & i’m totally satisfied with it, no problems, everything is working perfectly, i even have noki 5800, 5233 & 5130, but i find corby pro the best, if you keep your phone properly it will work properly if you wont then any phone would stop working & then you will start blaming the phone

believe me no phone is perfect except the ones without multimedi features, every phone has its own problem, this is my first samsung phone and i’m quite happy with it, earlier i had always used to buy nokia, if you look for problems you will always find one in any phone, my suggestion is use and keep your phone properly, read the manual properly, then it will certainly perform good

its an awesome phone. all features are working just fine..until on the 3rd week. it starts to shut down by itself and restart and shut down again. i got to the store where i bought it. they replaced the batteries and told me to move all my files from phone to the memory card then reset the phone to factory settings. they said when the phones memory got full it will have that problem.
another thing. how will that etiquette pause works???

ummm to be honest with u i love this phone best phone there is has all what i need and more and the touch screen is a little sensitive so u will get used to it and the keyboard is amazing too

all those who say the fone is gud r correct. All those who say it sux or it is bad ARE ABSOLUTELY WRONG AND WRONG AND WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another thing is this msg is being typed from a corby pro! My corby never gave me problems i donno abt the others. Remember to buy it from an authorized samsung dealer only.

One of the worst mobile with a worth of 12k. It does not have regional language support. Proud indians should boycot this product from our market. Thru their browser also we can’t read any unicode supported website also. Ultimate waste. Shame on Samsung

Of course, phone is great until something happend with him. I have this phone just ONE WEEK and my microfone is already broken. When I am calling or somebody is calling me – I can not hear anything!! Just in case I use speaker or headset. And I see that I m not only one who have this problem. Thats really poor!

With the above blogs i gone through, i came to know that
70% people say NO to samsumg corby.
25% people say YES.
5% People say it depends on person usage.
CREDITS:
*-Compared to other mobiles this is the Cheapest mobile with all the features.
*-User Friendly only for Soft Users.
COMPLAINTS:
*-Corby mobile is getting heated if we over 10min.
*-Samsung Service Center is horrible.
so before you buy just think on all this issues and do wisely.
SUGGESSION:
*-Can prefer Samsung Corby pro on the SAMSUNG Retail Shop for better use.

i buy and use this phone for 6 month now, no problem whatsoever, about the touchscreen it’s a bit slow because it use resistive technology, which wont respond much to finger touch, try using a touch pen instead. i have samsung star 3g also and it use responsive technology which respond best when using finger touch.
And about sound or texting or wi fi, i never have such problem, work to me like a breeze, using wifi with signal at 68% i never experiencing any disconnect issue

I had been using this phone for 3 months.but no problem at all.the way people use it and not buying it at an authorized dealer could cause problews.no phone is perfect.if u concentrate on problems you could find thousands in every phone.bt your purpose and hot it mathes with it is more important.

Just got this phone yesterday… already I’m getting frustrated.
My texts show up with large spaces when I send them to most of my friends. This may not annoy me, but it sure does to my friends… not so happy with that.
Also, I find how when you’re scrolling, the little vibration motion thing that you can feel is starting to annoy me. If anyone knows how to turn that off, please tell me.
I’m already considering returning my phone and getting a different one… not happy so far Samsung. =/

@szilvie: to turn off the vibration while scrolling, try the volume keys on the left side of the phone. the volume and vibration options will appear. click on vibration, put it on zero mode, very easy.
also had my corby pro just yesterday, and the problem i’ve already encountered is the loose battery. what i did: i stuck a piece of paper at the base of the battery. stops the battery from moving, stops my phone from going on and off.
for the applications, maybe these are available for certain countries only…

Just got this phone its not bad only complaint i have is the letter spacing when texting friends. there are a lot of customizable options basically whole phone. im on the rogers network 30 per month phone was 30 on a 3 year term. contract is decent. recomend over bell/telus any day!

hey..im having problems while playing some java games in corby pro it shows ‘no memory available’,can any one suggest me a way to fix this…and also i want to know whether is it possible to add more shortcuts to the main menu because when you click the edit in the main menu of the corby pro ,you will be having a fourth tab open for adding more icons..?

Had the phone for a month, its alright. One major thing that is happening and need help with. I have things on my screen I can not get off, radio, appointment thing, and media player. I have unchecked all of the widgets gone into everything I could think of to shut those three things off and I can not, and its become very VERY FRUSTRATING!!! Help!!

@dave- if u want to remove those applications from ur screen…u should open the sidebar for widgets and then drag that application into that sidebar…..from there u can remove it then…hope it works

Hi,
I bought the phone one month back.I liked the music quality that samsung gives and the extra ordinary style and features.But just after a month,suddenly after recieving a call its display got damaged.I could n’t see the screen.But the call was coming.I gave it to the service center, they told they have to change the motherboard and the display as well.Thank god it was in its warranty……..

I love this phone! after dropping it down 6 flights of starir, in my pond and a toilet, it still works great! It doesnt over heat, and its all around amazing! i just dont know how to change the look of the menu, i know how to move around the icons, but i cant change the black, to an image/theme!!!

Hey I just got this thing 3 weeks ago and was really happy with it until it slipped out of my hands on 2 feet of the floor. Guess what happened the thing? You guessed it the display cracked and that really sucks. Can you imagine a phone that fragile that it would break from 2 feet off the floor. I used to have a Nokia WS810 block type phone and drooped from 2 stories onto the concrete and it didn’t break but I can’t believe this piece of crap Corby Pro. The odd thing is when I was looked at the phone in the store I asked for a durable phone and this is what was suggested to me. I can only imagine how much a new display will cost. Don’t buy one of these things.

just got this phone last night and can’t figure out how to get some of these icons off the screen but i haven’t read the manual yet sooooo shouldn’t be complaining, so far i love the phone i was surprised it has touchscreen capabilities i was not expecting that when selecting the phone… so far so good heres hoping all the defects have been worked out…

I have brought Cobry pro in JUNE. It gives me lots of problems. Moreover samsung service is very bad. Every time time they will say sapre part is not available it will take time. Common solutions for all problems they provide is SW to be reinsatlled. If problems still exists after software install, motherboard has to be changed .

I am typing from corby pro.this is a good mobile.i also had some issues earlier like it restarts automaticcally as was little busy to get it resolved by service center i myself resolved it by moving all data to memory card instead of phone memory.its qwerty key pad makes it look stylish but i think the phone might be for soft usage as it is slider.

Hi all,
I bought this phone around 8 months back, and till date i haven’t seen a phone which gives a better value for money. True its not super powerful with a huge speed processor, but as a phone, as a mobile gaming platform, as a text messenger or simply for being online on the go..there is no better phone at this price. The phone does need a bit of tweaking for it to be really good, example install the opera mini browser and youll never use another browser again. Same for downloading and installing different free music players and games. Once you’ve customized this phone to the way you want it; it wont disappoint you. Sometimes even the best phones fail..i have an Iphone 4 which has been repaired 3 times now. But still these machines deserve every bit of credit, and this phone is a superb example of a phone that does it all..

some of you may have complained that we cannot start internet on personal computer(pc) but here is a solution to that ,when I bought it i same was worried how to start my INTERNET but one of my friend said that you can only star net on pc by using Samsung kies software & in your mobile phone
there will be a option for PC CONNECTIONS just go to it & change it to kies ,then either install latest version of samsung kies sofware or after installing it just check for latest version by clicking on top left most of installed samsung kies & click on update but you must have another net connected to your pc or you can download latest version of it .
then go to the bottom of it there will be many icons there you will find a TETHERING optio just click for it and change your internet profiles of mobile company that you use the adjust/set the settings in TETHERING option and just click right most option on two small mobile phones will be there mobiles just click it & ur net is started.and this comment that i am writing is first time after connecting my mobile phone to PC and giving.

I just got my Samsung Corby Pro for Christmas & it already does not want to turn on! It has been restarting randomly and I figured it was just the battery that’s dead. But last night, when I put it on the charger, it didn’t wanna turn on AT ALL! I’m so frustrated
I just read a comment about if the memory is full, it will restart. But I have a memory card & all or almost all my files are on it.
Samsung, you disappoint me!!!! I’m over Samsungs, seriously. Big ass FAIL! -____-

check this link.. it says mobile is equipped with Google latitude .. but actualy it’s not supported in corby pro.. and how come a phone is a professional phone when it dose not have call recording facility?….. Poor mobile … and poor me who already bought it..:(

hello, i am having problem with my corby pro;
when i try to charge it, the empty battery sign appears on the phone and then it goes off again. i cant charge it and i cant open it either. I am sure the battery is empty is there any chance to charge it again? if you can send e-mails i really appreciate that. thanks

Hi All:
This is the greatest phone I ever had. Touch screen, slide keyboard, easy text and call. many other apps and great features. Totally recommended. Anyway, sorry for a lot of you who has problems with it, hopefully its fixed.

Hi:
You should have the charger that your service provider gave you. plug it in and just leave it there for a couple of hours. Then unplug it and you should see the battery meter being full. Hopefully that works. If not, try to switch to a new one. Good luck

dont buy corby pro
it dont support many videos. sending message is a difficult & time consuming work.
its head set is poor effect when compared to sony ericsson it give low volume during calls.
it dont have flash for camera and no short cut keys for changing song without unlocking so its risk unease to use at nights. its hard to create plalist.
goodness of phone is its camera battery and net speed thats all. it is 80 waste and 20 good its worth for 3000rs.
dont buy and wasye money buy sony its really good i had sony but i lost that so bought this and worrring now my money wasted.

@jimmy- its much better getting the corby pro then the monte cause the monte is touch screen and take alot more time to write but the corby has a keypad which makes it so much easier!

Hi All,
I have been using samsung corby pro for almost 9 months and had not given me any problems as such.It has been a good phone for me.I would rate it 8/10.But i expect samsung to enhance this phone in terms of speed and more software compatibility.

Worst phone….i bought corby pro 8 months back…after 3 months its speaker stopped working …now its touchscreen is not working…the worst part of this phone is that using keypad u can not access phone book and messages….totally garbage.

Hi TEAM..
im a user of this wonderful phone but have only one problem, when i use JAVA, for MXit or opera mini, the screen display doesnt change when i slide out the qwerty unlike htc s710 etc.. but lastnight, i dont know how, i was able to when using Opera mini. so i would like to know how to do it..
