Nokia 5233 Review
In February we can again prepare for the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona. And although the rumors first struck like a bomb, namely the lack of Nokia as an exhibitor at the MWC 2010, soon proved that Nokia had very different plans for MWC. 
Unlike the other major brands, Nokia puts down his own event near the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. And with full attention, Nokia claims its own audience. One of the anticipated new mobile phones will be introduced is probably the Nokia 5233.
Nokia 5233 is the new touchphone by the Finnish company that appears now in a single depiction and a hint of technical data. This is a medium or low range mobile phone that is likely to have an affordable price. Aesthetically it is linear with the front fully dedicated to the touchscreen.
Its looks are quite similar to Nokia 5230 in its features and looks. See videos below for a full review of Nokia 5233:

Let’s look at the technical details of this brother of the Nokia 5230 and Nokia 5235 Comes With Music.
The Nokia 5233 is a full touchscreen smartphone with a 3.2-inch display, and
operating platform based on Symbian S60 5th edition.
We also know that has a 2-megapixel rear camera,
The Nokia 5233 should come out in the first six months of 2010according to rumors. We probably have more info on this after the MWC in Barcelona.
None of this info might be 100% true for now. The information i am giving has been circulating on the web
disseminated by the Russian site Mobile-review. We must only wait to find out more.
In conclusion, Nokia 5233 is a variant of the parent who already had accepted Nokia 5230 Comes With Music and 5235. The sheet should be quite remote from a 3.2-inch touch screen with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels, the 2 megapixel camera, plus GPS and also there should be a 3.5 mm audio jack. If you have little bit more money to spend then I would still recommend you to buy Nokia 5800 if you can.

i bought this mobile yesterday znd is very handy……none of my mobiles last long due to my rough use ao thia time i opted to buy a cheaper monile…..but it was more than worth the money…but it lacks 3g which i don care due to its cost and i use edge….camera is only average and other tnan tat d other features are really mind blowing….so go for it if you are a budget user….

Great handset ,i purchased it a month ago and found it great comparing music with my N95 8GB and Sony Ericsson Satio ,its great.Sales box earphones are of no quality,but i use sony MDR EX35LP and Creative EP-630 in ear earphones and have a blast.This phone have gr8 cam features and without flash night photos are very clear coz it has greater ISO levels.Video capturing is too good compared to both satio and N95 8GB.And this phone have a symbian s60 5th edition platform so you can do anything install anything, Touch screen is resistive but very very responsive , screen is made of very good LCD with gr8 contrast level.And with in this price range i think its just great…. Nokia 5233 is a good phone…..i bought this phone on this march….
the phone being nice and great looks, it has some disadvantages….
1> Sound quality is not so good….
2> no 3G….
3> no flash in camera…
the most bad thing is the sound quality….
i wonder how Nokia like company make such a big mistake!!!….sound should be good….
bt then also this phone being cheaper than any other nokia touch screen phones, this mistake can be neglected…..
materials in the box is not too many…
you will get the phone nokia 5233, a stylus, a guitar peck like thing, 1 headset, book, a cd or a free gift voucher, an user manual, battery and no free memory card…
i bought this phone alongwith a 4GB memory card…
despite of all its disadvantages, its a very stylish, durable and a user friendly phone….
i am happy with my 5233….
those who are music freak, i would suggest not to buy this phone…they can buy 5800 or opt for a sony ericson phone….

Its good in cheep smartphones…… having some good features as buffer sound speaker, the internet speed is too fast, having html webkit browser……… u can do nything at ur default browser as u do on ur computer, camera quality is good, & battery backup is good also…… It has not 3g n flash light, but its not a matter @low price of nokia smartphones……..

The sound quality of nokia 5233 is not as good as nokia’s xpressmusic series.
This is becoz nokia 5230 and 5233 lacks stereo speakers , they mono speakers which giv bad sound and output quality.

Pretty good phone…stylish, handy but jus not ment for ppl who want music at low price..Samsung corby or Sony Naite would have been a better choice. Got it for 7k and paid 300Rs more for 2 Gb card. worth a buy if u lookin for a simple touch phone in low range.

I bought nokia 5233 three days back, but got disapponted. It is advertised and told that a Symbian phone can accept any third party softwares, But I regret why Nokia does not sell Symbian phones loaded with basic features.
After purchasing the Nokia 5233, I was disappointed within 2 hours when I found :
1) I can not create a new folder in music or Images section. Preveously I had created separete folders in Samsung D880 as Religious Songs, Gazals,Oldies, Latest Songs in Music Sectionn and Religios Wallpapers, My Family, My Shots and My Wallpapers in Images Section. It is very tiring job to find a particular song / Image among 500 songs / Images. You can only make playlists.
2) You can not rename a file or a song or an image. You can search a particular song but first you will have to rename it from Track07 or 99MP3.
I regret to buy this phone. Will any body tell me from where I can get thirdparty softwares for these basic features. My Mob: 09915578366

Mob. 5233 is really very affordable but certain features are not available.
sound quality is not so good.
there are problems in map – nevigation –
one cannot make its own folder, rename file, etc.

5233 Screen is very large its not a QVGA display Its a NHD display at 16:9 ratio not good phone yet,but i suggest to buy nokia 5235 ovi music unlimited & nokia 5230 is good choice because it have 3g and a-gps which works better missing wi-fi & video calling is not big problem bcz 3g is not launched in india yet,single mono speakr is very tiny and sound not too good so music lovers not like that phone yet,well nokia 5230 is not available at this time yet updated to firmware v12 to v20 with new features and car holder for voice guided navigation,satellite and street view

5233 is a gr8 phone… considering the price its well above supremacy… nd wah telse.. its a gr8 smartphone…
the phone is so fast nd try a mem card it will be faster…
the sound is indeed good and hav a nice bass effect… even though its not xpressmusic still it rocks. speaker quality is also good.
symbian 60 really packs a puck in this cell…
ya nd the only disadvantage is that it dont hav ne 3g… so ne 1 lukin for 3g.. keep out!!!

Though the sound quality is dissapointing (hey its not music phone), But with high quality headphones you can take care of that (I personaly use Sony inner-ear and it sounds pretty good “

The answer to SMK and bluehuge questions would be….
1) for bluehuge definitely go for the 5230 if you got extra 1 grand to spare… it will give you 3g and the rest of the features and specification are the same or I would say similar. The market price for 5233 is somewhere around 6400/- whereas 5230 its around 7400/- but the market price differs from state to state. So check with your local stores about it.
2) For SMK your question was quite tricky for a moment but why the heck would you put sony ericsson naite out there in the list… Naite is a high end phone which will drastically make hole on your pocket besides the price being around 20k. so if cost is not the issue than you should definitely go in for the SE Naite which is ofcourse far more better than the rest of the phone you have mention, 5233, corby and Lg pep… which are in range from 6k-10k.. Although My next option will be LG pep but taking a look at 5233 it does seems a good deal or Samsung corby isn’t that bad too… cos all of the phone you mentioned besides NAITE all of them are quite affordable as well as value for the money. This phone Nokai 5233,lacks in sound clarity.And when u are in traffic or on road which is noisy ,you can not listen to the caller.A big failure in providing the very basic feature(music quality is secondary).
And 1 more thing, u cannot view ur songs in folder structure(even if u place them in that structure in memory card.

yuh i agree with SHAH… its a total value for money but there are other options in the market which consumers can explore and provides much better features.. but always the Name of the Brand stands out when it comes to Mobile phone in India.. that’s NOKIA…
And to VENKAT… i don’t think your point of proving to not buy nokia 5230 or 33 really is dubious… with any phone you go out on the traffic and noisy places… you are bound to have problem hearing.. so thats really not gonna stop anyone from buying this, i doubt that. and secondly why do you need to view songs in different folders while you can make your on playlist and listen to the songs.. its really silly of you too mention that.. either your really a nut case or your an amateur in all this technology things
FOR RAHUL… its easy! go for the 5235 where you can get unlimited download songs free but provider charges will be applicable though…
ADDY you really sound like a maniac…This phone is an introduction of nokia trying to provide affordable touchscreen aimed for those people who are tight on budget as well who can’t afford those high end phones.. they have done much better jobs than motorola and sony erricson.. but comparing it to samsung it does lacks behind. but no one is perfect everyone has their downpoint

The basic features what a mobile should provide are:
1. clear and optimum sound and speech for talking
2. non-sluggish and friendly interface
3. battery backup
4. speaker and ringer volume & quality
5. easy to use , in general
I have personal experience of LG cookie and Samsung Corby. Both are in competition, and are more or less same.
What 5233 has more is:
- excellent video recording (640×480@30fps)
- Excellent screen
- smoother interface (tough menus take time to open, scrolling is fast and smooth)
it lacks the basic feature of calling – voice clarity. Corby wins here.
But I would suggest – no Corby, no Cookie, no 5233, even if you see them as a steal for 6000/- Get something else.

NOKIA 5233 is an excellent mobile in its price. Sound is good but slow. Picture quality is FANTASTIC and video quality is phenomenal. All third party gets supported once few softwares get signed by another software called ‘FREE SIGNER’. Colour quality is the best. Very fast than other 60 series V5 edition moiles.

Well Nokia 5233 XM seems to be quiet good in terms of price. The cell phone lacks 3G and wi-fi buts thats not needed unless you are a serious cell phone geek ! I dint understand what the Proximity Detector is all about ! I bought the cell phone on 20/7/2010 from Univercell store in Bangalore for 6650 INR !
The loud speaker is one of the worst feature! No wireless FM! I appreciate the 3.5mm jack which gives a superb sound effect when connected via headphones! Again the Internal memory is superb wit almost 82mb built-in the phone functions really smooth!
Another factor that troubles me is the touch screen which is not that great and has a low life period! The screen guard is also of poor quality! The white and silver model looks good but it also accumulates dirt faster !
The phone lock is not that great and uneasy to use! The main parts most likely to get damaged with time would be:
1) Touch screen
2) Lock key
Conclusion :
Superb and attractive design
1) very low price
2) Not good loud speaker
3) Not good touch screen
4) Not good screen gaurd
5) No 3G
6) No wi-fi
7) Not good lock key
9) Superb memory capacity
10) Great software funtionality and easy to use
11) Large display good for web browsing
12) Motion Sensitive
So i would rate the phone 6/10 !

nokia 5233 is a nice touchscreen phonein rs. 6500 otherwise u would nt think of getting a touchscreen below 7000 from the highly rated nokia. But it has mono speakers so not having a loud music sound. Good for web browsing. A must buy phone from nokia. Good battery backup. I luv my 5233.

To be frank,ieven wonder is this a nokia product? .Worst ever used mobile (used 6 models of mobiles so far. I see only more negatives than any of its features.. Nokia do you have any plan to call back these scraps from market!! that will be better. This is not giving battery back up. mobile hanging evene if the totall memmory content is below 1GB. slow opening, improper working of tilting screens. time display reducing for 5-6 minutes day by day. IS it a tested mobile (or a test for the customer). screen not working..PLEase dont buy this product (its for customer benefit). I will never buy even NOKIA product from now.

i bought this phone a couple of weeks ago and im happy with it!
Although it doesnt have great sound it is a decent phone!
If you have an ipod and dont need a good music player on ur phone i recommend this one.
Its not the best phone out there but for $200 AUS its better than other phones in its price range. If you want better features u will just have to pay more!

It’s an very interesting phone because of it’s clearity,it’s a must buy for the mobile lovers ,it is a full touch screen mobile 5233 ,with lovely 2 panels.its 9 out of 10 ,1 less because of its low sound.

Nokia 5233 is a nice phone… i rate it 8/10
Advantages:
=price wise greatly Affordable
=stylish
=great support for apps,games
=large screen
=great in using internet
=good cam quality
Disadvantages:
=Sound is not good(its not a music phone people
=its not a premium quality device( in this price u cannot get an iphone) ,,cummon!
=The touch screen is little resistive,but works OK
=has a plstic body that may be disliked by some of people
Overall 5233 is a great phone in usage, its for people who care for budjet and is not for music lovers.

This phone is a smart phone.
It’s price Rs. 6400 in kolkata.
It have 16.7 million nHD Display with 3.2 inch screen. It’s greater than other brand phone comparing with it’s price.
It have ARM 11 435 Mhz processor that’s why it’s faster than any of Samsung Corby or star.

Proximity Detector is nothing but a small inbuilt device which locks your phone’s screen when the kept neat our ears (Not Always) only while in a call.
It is found right to the ear piece and above the media key of the Nokia 5233 phone….

Insert your head set & Make a call…..
Now while speaking, just place a finger above it and see that the screen locks…..

Hi guys! I just bought my nokia 5233 last july 9,10.. Yeah, i agree that this phone is n0t really into high quality of music, no flash & no wifi.. But u can’t xpect m0re on this budget phone.. In my opini0n, nokia 5233’s feature takes m0re of its price.. It has great features! A tactile touchscreen feedback, good quality pictures & camera than any other 2 MP phones, faster web browsing & you can install great applications that are also applicable with xp5800.. So for th0se who are upset with poor sound quality, don’t loose hope.. You still have a chance.. Just download an mp3 player,particularly @ mobile9.com, then surely u’ll start to be contented & happy with the phone that you have.. Don’t xpect m0re, be c0ntented.. =) just what i did!

i own a nokia 5233. the sound quality is very worst. with full volume and having the headphone plugged in my ears, I could not hear anything while travellin in normal buses( seated in window seat). please help me out. few files are of good quality but many others mp3 files lack sound.
