Does anyone know?
Is there any themes for the new LG Neon TE365? Or are there any themes that are compatible with LG Neon TE365? I love the phone but I don’t like the colour the folders in the menu. So if anyone knows how to change the theme, Plz! let me know

I recently got this phone but I have had issues with finding out how to load songs on, Not to mention trying to find headphones compatible with the phone, If anyone has any information, Please respond

i too just purchased the phone and was wondering how to use the FM radio if i can’t find headphones compatible with the phone

How much coding would it take to add touch features for the icons and moving the text cursor? MINIMAL! In fact, I bet it was just disabled.
Also they crippled the MicroSD so that you are REQUIRED to have your video and audio files in particular directories to see them. What a PITA!
Minor annoyance is no dictionary. Doesn’t come with headset (proprietary jack) and thus no radio since it need it for an antenna. Haven’t figured out how to backup the phone’s memory yet if it can even be done. Also doesn’t come with a data cable.
..You wanna by a car, cheep?
..It’s a nice looking car.
..It comes with seats, but you can’t use them while driving.
..Has air, but you can’t use it when it’s hot.
..It has heat, but you can’t use it when it’s cold.
..But the mirror works all the time, so you can look good in it!
..Oh and the retractable roof only retracts when there are a flock of birds above ready to cr*p on ya!
BAHAHAHAHAHA!
If you don’t mind the fact that you are paying for stuff you aren’t getting, it appears to be a good phone. Had it for a week now. People can’t hear me so well on the speaker phone. Minimal manual. Haven’t tried web access but I bet no touch screen on that either.
I like the weight (light), the keyboard and battery life is better then the Nokia 6555 I had before.
One thing I *REALLY* like about the phone is that I can return it. Oh wait, that isn’t part of the phone!!

Wow that is a really fine looking phone. The price seems very reasonable for the phone. Thanks for the update!

I got one LG NEON, but very disappointed since I can’t use stereo bluetooth handset to play music, and doubt if LG NEON support A2DP. Anyone has same experiencec?
April 26th, 2009
I got a headset from LG, and got the FM radio to work (amazing! – once you put in the headset the phone lets you play the radio on the headset and on loudspeaker too and it rocks!)
It’s much better then some other phones I’ve had
does anyone know how to get it to play .midi and .aac files (i’m thinking an online converter, any ideas?)

Yo, How do i play mp3 music?

Its a great texting phone except that its super slow. My Nokia 6300 (which is the same price n everything I believe) is slimmer, yes it does have half the battery life, but its super fast, understandable. The LG phone is slow, sliding in and out lags. Its just an overall bad experience. Unless you absolutely hate T9 texting, don’t buy this phone. Oh, and I forgot to mention that they purposefully limit you to 500 text messages, both sent and received. So its rather lame.

I just got the phone and my first question is.
How does any one in the right mind add songs to a mp3 or phone with out a USB cable.
2nd what company in the right mind does not add an instruction manual to teir product all I got was a freaking quick start Manual that told me bull and lastly; how do I make my phone all touch I swear LG needs to improve or answer questions!
May 5th, 2009
Also to answer questions ya it’s kinda slow but it’s alright and for testing u need to talk with ur service provder to change text mine is 500 free texts sending a mounth and free if I’m getting a text this is a good phone for text or im but bad for mp3 and camra like a had this shhh*t samsung phone worst resption but good mp3 and 2 mp camra that can zoom like this phones camras is basic my old phone could add frames but the touch seems sweet only if they had a manual telling us how to do it!!! Btw I did all of this from my iPod touch
May 14th, 2009
To put songs you need to purchase a MicroSD chip and a MicroSD adapter. Click and drag songs via My Computer. Its simple, but stupid. LG isnt smart for not giving USB cable.
May 20th, 2009
Hi there, there’s some ‘Fair enough’ comments in here. I too have purchased 1 of these phones in NZLD. It is an awesome looking fone, but… there are no compatible new themes to download and no online manuals available! I too, as some others got NO manual when I purchased but have managed to find my way around easily.
Putting mp3’s onto the internal or external is not too difficult if you have bluetooth on your comp or other mobiles in your house or circle of friends/family. Also if you have an sd connection on your comp you can drag and drop mp3 files from iTunes or other programs similar, onto your sd card then save it internally if you wish. Hope that makes sense.
I this is helpful to someone!
Overall, not a bad phone, has some character to make it ’special’ in its on way! Not faster than some models out there.
In my books a 8 out of 10
Cheers

May 27th, 2009
Hi! I am going to buy this phone and I was just wondering what Geoff meant by they limit it to 500 texts sent and recieve. Doesn’t that depend on the plan you get with it, or is it that if you have over 500, you wont recieve them? I am a little confused! Help please!
May 27th, 2009
Anyone know if this is available for purchase in the philippines?
May 29th, 2009
Yeahhh, i also wanna kno how to change the themes? I mean, my menu’s items are all red and white. Like the rogers style, I dont like it, i want to customize it, but can’t find a way. Can anyone help please?
May 30th, 2009
I’m trying to find this phone in red. Probably with Rogers or Fido. Can anyone help me find it?
May 31st, 2009
@ Lynder,
I have this phone, and what he means is that the phone only allows you to store 500 texts at a time, so when time comes that you have sent say, 250 texts and received 250 texts, thats 500 texts. It won’t let you send anymore texts until you have deleted a few texts to make room for new ones. Even if you have a memory card, you won’t be able to save these texts in there.

HOW TO GET MUSIC ON LG NEON
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QUGUdbWra8&feature=related
When I got my LG Neon 2 months ago, it came with my headset. You can also use an LG Chocolate Headset.
Unfortunately it didnt come with a Data Cable (USB). You can also use an LG Chocolate Data Cable with this phone.

I love this phone! If you’re a casual texter/emailer, then this phone is for you! I bought mine on Kijiji.ca, for only $150, and the headseat was included!

I do not know why people are so negative about the LG Neon. My son has it and I have used it and we both think it is a GREAT phone. It came with a headset, USB cord and manual. Even though we did not use the manual as the phone was very easy to figure out. My son is very happy with the phone, he is 10 and he figued out how to use the radio right away with no help, it would seem that LG made it easy for kids but something for adults to complain about.
Good job LG…great phone!!
June 5th, 2009
I got this phone about a week ago and I would just like to say that I like this phone with one MAJOR caveat that is driving me bonkers!
It’s the MP3 Player. I CANNOT play music by artist or album continuously without creating a playlist, anywhere on the phone. I am with Rogers and have been to two different Rogers Wireless stores, talked on the phone with LG support twice (once in Canada and once in the US) AND twice with Rogers support over the phone. The phone conversations were useless from both parties as both were of the “It’s not us, it’s them” mentality.
Considering that I have no other MP3 player and will be transferring music a lot to this phone, I don’t want to be spending hours creating playlists every time I put new music on the phone. I just want to listen to them by album without having to press a button every 3 minutes (which you CAN do, incidentally, through the Media|Sounds|External Memory menu option).
I figure that this problem could be solved 3 ways:
1. Have a sort on the MP3 player to sort by album or artist. It would then play the songs continuously by album.
2. Have an option when you go into Media|Sounds|External Memory to continue to the next song without pressing a button.
3. Have some kind of software that could be run against the computer where you store your mp3’s to create a playlist in the LG format (whatever format that is…they couldn’t tell me at LG or Rogers) and then be able to transfer it to the phone memory somehow (which they also couldn’t tell me how to do at LG).
No one at Rogers or LG has been able to provide me with a solution to this.
I have been searching on the internet as well and so far have been able to find exactly zilch on this subject.
All I wanted to do was get a phone with an MP3 player and a full keyboard for texting, and not pay for it. So, OK, I figure I have 30 days with Rogers to return it and get another one that will do what I want, right? Wrong.
BUYER BEWARE: If you get a new phone with Rogers as part of a plan, you have 30 days OR 30 MINUTES OF AIRTIME to return it, whichever comes first!
They might as well say you have 2 days to return it (and that is lienient). I mean, how are you supposed to check out the new phone without racking up minutes? I can’t check out the features without putting the sim card in. Oh, I know you don’t use the minutes when going through the options of the phone, but if someone calls me, I will need to answer the phone without pulling out the sim card and putting it in my old phone! However, in the future, I will probably NOT answer any calls on a new phone until I am satisfied the phone does all I need. I just didn’t expect this particular problem. Who would?
Anyway, if anyone knows anything about this, please let me know.
Thanks.
Later.

i’ve been useing the te365 for about 3 weeks now and i find it pretty straight forward. adding music and videos is quite simple with soe basic knowledg of comp’s. my problem is instaling games? if anyone can help me out it would be greatly apreacieted!
June 7th, 2009
hey i just got this TE365 phone and have been having one problem:
everyonce and a while when i got to check my phone, it will be completely off. this can happen randomly (as in i put it in my pocket and two seconds later, it is completely shut off). does this happen to anyone else? each time it happens, i am required to wait the five minutes it takes to turn it on again…very frusterating.
also…does anyone know if it can assign speed dial??
June 7th, 2009
The things I’ve learned about the LG Neon:
-It came with no USB cable…. lame.
-It is completely propietary with headsets and USB cable, that was stupid, are they trying to be as retarded as Sony?
-I still can’t figure out how to export videos taken with it to my PC or to upload to YouTube.
-I was lucky enough to get the FM radio headset and it works great, nice sound!
-The touchscreen was purposely disabled and you can only use it for dialing, how lame is that?
-I have to “unlock” the bloody thing pressing two buttons to use it, if I’m being killed on the sidewalk I would die on the spot trying to call 911.
-The ringtones are girlish and sucky, but luckily it has a pretty decent loud volume to make those ringtones listenable in a bus or while driving.
-I love the quality of both pics and video, now if I could only figure out how to export to my PC.
-I have figured out how to download MP3 files to it via the micro SD, I prefer this way better than direct transfer with a USB cable.
-It’s hard to navigate and make choices when you have the keyboard slided out, it’s confusing.
-You cannot see HMTL websites naturally, only in mobile format, this technology is 5 million years old, c’mon let’s get with the program and ban Mobile Internet standard.
-The video and picture features are NOT user-friendly at all, I haven’t even figured out how to stop or start recording but I done it by just pressing buttons wildly.
-No manual for newbies, just a quick startup book.

HOW DO YOU SEND A TEXT WITHOUT KNOWING THE PERSON’S ACTUALLY NUMBER ?!?! I go to send a text to several people at once and the “Contacts” option changes into the “Send” button. WTF. SO this phone is telling me that I can’t send texts to multiple people unless I know their numbers off by heart ? Horrible, horrible phone with cheap headphones. I do not recommend this phone at all. Awkward, brutal, and very poorly designed.
June 19th, 2009
you go down to the second contact then press options, then contacts. seems pretty straight forward to me.
June 19th, 2009
sorry not the second contact, the second recipient of the message. or 3rd or 4th. it will let you send it to up to 10 people.
June 21st, 2009
Got the phone today, works good so far. However I cant send texts, only receive? Side from that, no USB cord in my box and the phone-jack is strange, I have nothing that fits into that.
What kinda cable is that?
June 25th, 2009
Ok, to answer lots of questions, or just respond to them…
I don’t have the phone, but want it, because I have read a TON about it. First of all, it’s not a full touch screen. They made it only for dialing, it can’t be full touchscreen, period. Why on earth would they make it full touchscreen, but then lock it and not let you use it until YOU change it. …THEY WOULDN’T! If you want a full touch screen, go buy the Xenon or ITouch. Second, I’m surprised FM Radio worked for one person, because they said it didn’t have it. (att) Good for you, whoever said they got it (not in a sarcastic way, I’m serious.)
Third, it’s not hard to click options, delete all for texts. Unless you’re an FBI, or Secret Service person, you don’t need to see what EVERYONE said to you in the past month, and I’m pretty sure if you’re anything that DOES need to, such as the above, or other jobs, you won’t have this kind of phone.
Anyways, I just have ONE BIG QUESTION- actually, two(ish).
First, is there someway you can type messages without the full keyboard. Like, it says you can dial with the touchscreen, but can you use the nine buttons to write a message?
Because recently, I have used my friends’ phones, and they all have T9, and I think its kind of cool. But I mean, I’ll get over it if they don’t have it, lol. it has a whole keyboard, I don’t know what else I can do to save time, lol. But please tell me if it does have T9, also. THANKS SO MUCH! And I hope I helped some of you with your questions!

Does anyone know if the Aqua Blue/Black color will be available to US AT&T users anytime soon? (LG’s site has the Blue/Black and White/Green color options listed, while AT&T only has the White/Green.)
June 30th, 2009
how do you get the music from your memory card to add to your contacts?
July 3rd, 2009
for the User guide fully illustrated on how to use your phone”
–I missed it the first couple of times too–but eventually got the pdf downloaded no problem. Acc 2 manual, Supposed to have an FM built in, mP3 player, choice of themes yes, & phone supposedly capable of being used like a big memory stick (“Mass storage device”)–but then EXTRA SUPER LAME to not include the proprietary USB cable!–Pics look transferable via email, MultimediaMessage or Bluetooth, but Video seems transferable only via email or MM.–Just got mine 2 days ago free with 2 yr. contract. Headset came with it and the Quick Start Guide, but NOT USB CABLE–SHAME!!!–will see if i have anything more to say once battery is charged… Hope the manual link helps you all at least.
July 3rd, 2009
PS-once at the lgservice site, click on ‘Manuals’ on the left and punch in the model TE365–hope that saves you a bit of time.KG

HEY
does anyone knows if this phone will come to singapore?
i can’t seem to find it in the stores.
July 13th, 2009
Hi
I just got an LG Neon That came with the headset, a charger and instructions and battery. I was just wondering how exactly do you put in songs with a USB Cable since I got one with the phone. If you have an answer please tell me. I do not thnk the instructions tell me so. Thank you.
July 15th, 2009
i just got this phone because my old one was stolen. i like it enough, it’s realy easy for me to use, if a bit slow, which i don’t really mind because it’s pretty. the only thing i’m having trouble with is this: i used bluetooth to send a message tone to the phone and it worked just fine, but when i tried to send another one it stopped the upload at like 21% and said “failed” and my computer screen said there wasn’t enough space. but when i checked the phone’s memory it said most of it was free, except the 74Kb that the first tone i sent to it used. it’s a 14Mb memory that’s mostly empty and it won’t let me add more after that first one.
if anyone knows how to fix this without getting an microsd or usb cable, please let me know. jillybean1.9@gmail.com

hey guys i have a KS360 phone which is pretty similar 2 this one i think, i looks exactly the same! u can find the user guide here http://www.o2.co.uk/deviceinfo/device-pdfs/lgks360eng.pdf
also, i got a USB cable and a headset with my phone so i guess it depends on where u bought it
hope the user guide helps out

July 25th, 2009
Alright,
I JUST got my external memory chip thing ( 2 GB or whatever I think). And I don’t know how to get the music on it . I can put the pictures on perfectly fine , but not the music.. Also , I didn’t read all the comments , but I havn’t seen one so far with ANSWERS .
July 29th, 2009
Finally someone used the word bluetooth. Correct me if I’m wrong, but many computers have bluetooth. That is how I transferred my mp3 files to the phone. It’s wireless and therefore does not require any cable (which is why they likely didn’t include it.) My phone also came with the head set for the FM radio.
If you need a full User Guide it can be downloaded as a pdf on Fido’s website (and, I assume, any service provider’s site). The step-by-step on how to use the bluetooth is in the User Guide.
I too would love to know how to change the colours of the menu icons, fido makes them all yellow. It’s not pretty.
I cannot find any T9 capabilities. You can use the touchscreen for letters as you would a normal number keypad, with 3 or 4 letters per button.
I hope that was helpful to some.
July 29th, 2009
Oh, forgot to mention you can buy a USB cable though, if you do not have bluetooth. I bought a car adapter for my phone, from Fido, and it was sort of a two part cable. The wire from the phone attaches to the car adapter part by way of USB (and therefore also attaches to my computer). So it’s a dual function chord.
July 29th, 2009
i have the ks360
i love it but one thing i find a pain is to download music onto
and people if u do not like the phone y did u buy it ? for 99euro it can’t be up to the same as the new nokia (copy) and that is 300
August 4th, 2009
i love this phone, except for the fact that it randomly shuts off.. even while im in the middle of a call! i always have to check it, to make sure it didn’t turn off. it happened three times today. even while i was talking to my mom, and she was angry.. she thought i hung up on her! can’t stand it..
August 4th, 2009
I got the phone this weekend but i took the SD card from my BB phone out which has all my music but when i put it into this phone it doesnt show any of my music files….helppppp i need music in my life lol
August 6th, 2009
I’m just trying out the LG Neon right now. It’s not bad, really.
I have it working just fine with my A2DP Stereo bluetooth headset (the iLuv from Futureshop).
I didn’t have to do anything special to get it working. Just put the headset in pairing mode and selected New device… on the phone. It worked perfectly.
The touchscreen is stupid. It only works when dialing. I don’t know why they’d bother putting in the hardware for it to just dial numbers. That’s ridiculous. Oh well.
The camera is passable and it takes better quality video than my old S-E K790a.
Texting is very fast once you learn the keyboard. The symbol input is stupid, I think. After I trained myself to remember to press ok after each symbol I was faster. This only took a few times to remember. Bad UI design, though.
Overall the software for this phone sucks balls. It’s a great piece of hardware, and I’m not sure what processor is in it but I bet it’s fast enough to run a really good OS. Someone needs to write a homebrew firmware for this. Maybe make it so an unlocked phone can have android uploaded to it or something.
My phone came with the headphones required to enjoy FM radio – but I haven’t used it at all. I use a bluetooth headset. FM didn’t work on my old phone this way either. Oh well. More useless features. I bet the radio would work fine without the headphones. They just want you to buy more stuff.
August 8th, 2009
So far this is kinda a shity phone i had it freeze three times today and also i hate the fact that it wont let me save any of my text messages, if anyone has figure out how to do that let me know!
August 8th, 2009
DO NOT BUY THE LG NEON TE365 PHONE. It has major defects that will affect phone calls and text messages. Frequently when you make a call, you will not hear the phone you have called ringing. Then when the other person picks up, you won’t hear them talking for a few seconds. If you don’t know this it may cause you to hang up on people or cause them to hang up on you. Also, the phone will randomly turn itself off when you open it to answer a call or close it when finished. You will then have to wait to turn it back on. This can be extremely frustrating.
These are known defects and you will find other complaints about this in web postings. LG and the various carriers know about this and are not fixing these problems or taking these defective phones back.
August 11th, 2009
i know the phone which suckss =D
August 11th, 2009
I’ve had this phone since early May 2009 and it’s alright. Wish the USB cable came with it since, you know, it’d be nice to be able to get your photos and videos off the bloody thing. I’m sorry but, believe it or not, not every single recently released computer or laptop out there has Bluetooth.
It did, however, come with the earbud thing (for talking and listening to music) and AC adapter. (I got mine through Fido which is my provider.)
Having the touchscreen only for dialing IS sort of silly. Would have been neat if you could navigate the menus through touch too.
I also wish that there wasn’t the damn DRM on it so I can use some custom ringtones. Not sure if this was the fault of LG or the provider though.
Some good things about the Neon is that it’s fairly easy to use, call reception is quite good, and the sound is pretty clear.
But, in retrospect, had I known that there would be an explosion of QWERTY phones piling up on the market shortly afterward, I probably wouldn’t have picked this up.
Alyssa: If you’re in the process of typing a text message, you can save a draft of it. If text messages are sent, they’ll be saved in the Sent folder.
JB: I don’t think it’s fair to tell people not to buy the phone. I’ve never had any of those issues with my cell. I am certain, however, that there will be some LG Neons out there that are DOA or have software or electronic issues but I don’t think there’s a single company out there that make perfect merchandise 100% of the time.
August 11th, 2009
It’s an alright phone, texting is a breeze. Only fault I can find is the stupid DRM so you can’t use custom ringtones which is a HUGE let down. Thanks to Rogers I will make sure to read reviews on the web before buying anything like the LG Nazi..errr…I mean the LG Neon. For the price I think it should have come with more themes, just black and white? Come on now, this is 2009 be creative! Customizable themes? Nope. Touchscreen dialing is awesome, having touchscreen to navigate through phone would have been even better.
All in all, don’t get this phone, go for something else.
August 11th, 2009
Anyone figure out how to bypass DRM? Or perhaps apply DRM protection to an aac file to use as a ringtone?
August 13th, 2009
I have also tried searching online on how to convert mp3 files to DRM, but no luck what so ever. I tried BitPim, Sony Ericson software and the phone does not allow me to use it as a ringtone. Someone needs to bypass this somehow, it’s irritating to listen to my DEFAULT ringtone when someone calls. I’ve wasted an hour of my time and felt like I have done nothing. Sigh.
August 13th, 2009
Never buy this phone, mine broke one month after I bought it. The screen stopped working for no reason on a morning. After 3 month of examination by LG they ask me 120$ to repair it.
August 15th, 2009
Nikki,
Insert and format your MicroSD inside your Cellphone [see instruction - LG NEON under Format]. It will automatically create folders[images, sounds et all]. Then remove it from your phone and use your card reader/writer to transfer MP3 music from your USB/Computer to Micro SD[Sound Folder].
August 17th, 2009
I’ve had my Neon for almost 2 months now. No problems except a defective micro SD I got for it, which has nothing to do with the phone. Came with stereo headset. I use a bluetooth headset as well. it has never frozen, gone silent or any of the other crap u all mention. I agree the symbol menu in text mode is stupid, and the touch dialing is pointless.
I’m happy with my purchase.
August 21st, 2009
Hello There, \r\nI just recently recieved the LG Neon two days ago.
Now practically everytime I press a button, or try to send a message,
the thing just shuts down on me.
Why does it do that?
And what should I do with it?
Should I just let it rest for a few hours?
Please get back to me ASAP.
Thanks – Miranda.
August 22nd, 2009
For the person wanting to use a ring tone from their PC – the easiest idea might be to use the voice recorder found in the TOOLS folder. Just play the sound file on your computer and record it on your phone.
That might just work! Not 100% quality sound but i’ve done it before with a Sony phone and it was fine.
August 25th, 2009
i bought this phone yesturday night and ive been crazy about it.. my friends have it any nothing happend to theirs, this phone is good for me for now
but later i prefer a little bit better phone
August 25th, 2009
In reply to “Mark”…on my lg neon I can play music on the player countinously but only out of the “Recent Songs” or “Favorite Songs” folders. I cannot get any of my own playlists to do it. After 1 song the player will disengage itself and I get the AT&T menu. I’m not sure why this happens. As others have mentioned, the so-called manual that comes with the phone is utter crap so I’m at a loss and frustrated with this issue. Anyone? Bueller?
August 27th, 2009
What a pile of shit. This phone is by far the crappiest phone I’ve ever used. What’s with this phone randomly shutting off while txting?? I’ve already send it once already for the same issue seemed to work good for a month and now once again I have to bring this back. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE, IT JUST CAUSES FRUSTRATION.
On a side note, this is a txt phone, I txt a lot. And it’s great for txting WHEN IT WORKS!
Im so pissed.

The User Guide is fully ilustrated on how to use your phone.

September 8th, 2009

September 17th, 2009
PIECE OF JUNK PHONE! Shuts off randomly during texts. AT&T says it must have gotten wet! Yeah, right, while sitting in my purse!?!?! Don’t treat me like a criminal–just make good on the phone!
I bought mine new and have returned three refurbished ones that didn’t work either besides the fact that I bought NEW and expect NEW in return for the one that doesn’t work. LG does not respond to queries.
September 17th, 2009
Screen stopped working in under 1 month but these carriers know it and full exchange is only available before 15 days. Have been waiting for replacement or refurbished for 3 weeks. I beleive that there is a problem with the screens and nobody wants to admit it and have to recall them all. It will cost LG too much to do the recall.
September 22nd, 2009
PLEASE tell me how you got the MP3 as a ringtone….i’ve been trying for days. I have an LG Rhythm and love it, but I got the LG Neon for my daughter and I can’t seem to get songs on it for her…other than for the music player. She wants music ringtones on that phone, and who can blame her?
September 22nd, 2009
There are so many problems with this phone!
and it costs a lot of money to get it repaired!
1) I can’t send picture messages.
2) The screen is super sensitive, so it broke.
3) The phone randomly shuts off.
4) It takes 4 seconds for the screen to transition.

My phone works quite well. I got mine from Fido for 175(with taxes) so 197. They gave me a headset with it. The volume works well, everything works fine. The memory card, I also bought from Fido. It’s 2GB and comes with a USB drive. So I just take out the memory card, put it in my phone, and when I’m ready, I take out the memory card and put it in the usb part, then plug it into my computer and load the files onto it.
What my problem is, is the touchscreen. It works fine, but when I want to access my voicemail or a voice recording prompts me to dial a number or key, it won’t work. I can dial a phone number just fine, but once it comes to ‘please press 1” it doesn’t work.
September 23rd, 2009
P.S, I think getting a 3 or 4G memory card is necessary. I have a 2G, but I might get a 4G. The name of it is Kingston. So yea.
September 28th, 2009
i have the LG neon, and it came with headphones….
October 1st, 2009
Hi ! I just got a micro sd memory card and i put my songs on it but i cannot found them on my cellphone…where do i have to go ?
October 2nd, 2009
Hi. I don’t understand the complaints. I ordered my te365 from Fido on Sept 29 and Received from UPS 11:30am at my door Oct 1. The phone came ready to go. AC Adapter and Headphones came with the package. Ebay sellers have the USB data cable for $3+shipping. I paid a total of $6CAN. I’ll have to wait 10 days to receive from Hong Kong, but oh well. the te365 is not a smartphone. Don’t wine about the phone, it’s cheap. Go buy an iPhone if you’re super nerdy. I have a T-Flash USB MicroSD stick and shoved the mp3s into its sounds directory. .3GP files into the videos folder, and .JPG files into my images folder. P.S., Format the SD Card on the LG and it sets all of the directories for you. It’s not 100% open like my Nokia, but there are workarounds. Also, I use LG Suite III to transfer if you prefer to use the data cable. Good luck.
October 3rd, 2009
Hey Elijah,
I’ve bought a 4G microSD and a $3 USB cable from eBay. Got them both in hand but I can’t figure out how to retrieve data from the phone. Once I plugged the USB cable to my computer, the phone started beeping constantly and the computer does not recognize the USB device. Good god there seems have done no damage to the phone. Maybe I’ve received a defective cable. Please let me know how you do once you’ve received your cable. We should compare notes. Appreciate you reply to ttwkam@yahoo.com. Thanks.
October 3rd, 2009
Wished that the user manual mentioned any of this – Fido and LG are sad. Experimented a lot and got USB transfer working between TE365 and my iMac with the eBay USB cable.
1. Make sure phone is fully charged – may fail if not.
2. Turn on phone; turn off PC.
3. Plug phone to PC using the cable.
4. Turn on PC.
5. Phone will display “Call and message are not available”; hinting the connection is established.
6. PC should show two new drives – one for internal storage and one for the SD card.
7. Drag and drop files.
Phone will beep indefinitely and won’t connect if PC is on when you plug in the cable.
BTW, no drivers are required!
October 7th, 2009
Anybody who has anything good to say about this phone either
a) just bought it and hasn’t tried to use it yet.
b) is a LG shill paid to write reviews on phone sites or
c) is a complete and total idiot!
This phone is a nightmare! Do not buy! It shuts off randomly, has zero functionality, and is poorly designed in everyway!
October 11th, 2009
Does any body know where the touchscreen is? Does it only on number keyboard?
October 11th, 2009
i bought the the whole package for 150 including this plann and it came with headphones and bluetooth! i suggest if yhur looking for a low price bluetooth usb cable go to wall mart yhu can get one for 19.95

two phones both pieces of junk. the lg neon is junk. my daughter has gone through two phones, both she could not hear on for about 30 seconds after she placed a call and then about a week latter when she went to charge them the screen went black. this has happened on ***two*** different phone. im calling the BBB, im tired of AT&T and LG covering these issues up. the phone is junk and needs to be recalled. they claim the orange dot under the battery was from her getting the phone wet. well that shows just home dumb the employees at AT&T are. The dot under the battery is orange even when you take a new phone out of the box so dont let them trick you into thinking you got your phone wet and PLEASE DONT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK PHONE. YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY…
October 14th, 2009
i got the phone and when people try to send me picture texts messages i dont get them what do i do
October 15th, 2009
I also had the problem with the phone that when I called people it wouldn’t ring in my ear, and then (if the other person actually stayed on the line) the person I was calling would be yelling HELLO rudely at me when I could finally actually hear them. Several people told me that they had said hello 3-5 times before I responded. Some of my closer friends got in the habit of just hanging up on me when I was calling them and then dialing me back.
I got pretty annoyed with all of this and called AT&T. They gave me the number to call so that I could learn how to return my phone and get a replacement (How did they know that I was just dying to waste my afternoon figuring out how to make sure they couldn’t trick me into not following their specific return policy so they could just end up blaming their problem on me?!–Note my sarcasim), but I kept forgetting to ask people if they would let me use their phone to call that number, since I needed to call from another line so the AT&T people could ask me a bunch of questions about my phone (i.e. what is the number under the battery, is the dot below the battery orange, have you tried taking out the battery and putting it back in… the usual).
Anyway, long story short, in the meantime I deleted all of my text messages, and, as if by magic, I could hear people again!!
I think there must be some sort of problem with the memory capabilities of the phone. Any other ideas?
If other stuff on the phone starts malfunctioning or this proved to be just a minor hiccup in the phone’s mission to drive me crazy, I’m definately calling AT&T back.
I’m sure they can’t wait!
October 17th, 2009
PLEASE tell me how you got the MP3 as a ringtone….i’ve been trying for days. I have an LG Rhythm and love it, but I got the LG Neon for my daughter and I can’t seem to get songs on it for her…other than for the music player. She wants music ringtones on that phone, and who can blame her?
^ same situation there, except it’s my phone. anyone know how??
October 21st, 2009
Idk if this was answered, but to all the people saying you can only store 500 texts, this is true, but if u have an SD card it conviniently writes all your sent and received texts into a document and stores them there when u click the ’save text messages’ option in one of the menu’s. That way you can clear your sent and received texts everytime they reach 500, and u can still refer back to old texts that have been stored in a single document. This is a good starter phone if u want a QWERTY keyboard for texting. I send fairly long text messagse, most reaching over 500 charactres, so this is definatly a good phone for me. it does however skip letters and glitch up one sentance, but all in all texting is much faster with this phone.
October 22nd, 2009
if i record audio how 2 mke it a ringtone i jus got this lg neon phone yesterday 4 ma bday
October 29th, 2009
I’ve had this phone a few months and loved it at first. With in a week, the screen was locking up, texting was super slow, calls would take forever to connect, and at times it would randomly shut down. Thinking it was defective, I took it back and had it replaced with the same type phone. BIG mistake. I’m still having issues with slow texting, freezing screen, and issues with phone connections. I HATE this phone!!!!!!
November 1st, 2009
I had the same problems as everyone else here. I had the phone replaced once, then had the second one sent to LG for “repairs” and I just got it back 3 days ago so I’m waiting to see what happens with it. I thinks its shit and if I still have problems I’m changing cell phone providers. PIECE OF SHIT!!!!!!!!!
November 3rd, 2009
No, I’m sorry but this phone is horrible. When I first saw it, I thought, “awe, how cute! It does so much cool stuff, I’m definitely getting that one!” Well, apparently LG doesn’t know how to make a decent cell phone because I can almost never talk on it. People can’t hear me on the other end. I can almost never text on it, my phone shuts down before I can type more than three letters, and I mean COMPLETELY TURNS OFF. Can’t use the music or radio, doesn’t work. Calculator is deadly complicated. Internet always says “not enough memory; time out”. MSN now no longer allows me to log on, it keeps saying incorrect password, even though I know it’s the right one. And on the off chance that I do manage to get online, it logs me off automatically after about 2 minutes. This phone, make and model, is about as useful as looking nice. Everything else on it is either crap or stops working after a very short period of time. I’ve barely had this phone for more than 4 months and I’m already looking into buying an iPhone. This is just ridiculous. My crap Nokia worked a hell of a lot better than this one. The only upside to this phone is that the display is fairly nice, and the battery life is awesome. Otherwise, not a good phone for absolutely any purpose.
November 5th, 2009
My dad got this phone from Future Shop or Best Buy for free with Rogers. I have no idea why he got it though.. he got it for ME. So I’m stuck with using it. :S. He said that it’s a good phone and was really popular blah blah blah, I got it yesterday though and it took me so long to figure out how to do things.. with all the previous phones we got I would know how to use it (all the previous ones for either SE or Nokia) but this one was hella confusing. And I too am super confused about the MP3 thing. I think I have an SD Micro memory card from my old SE phone… so I hope it works with that. I hate how it has no USB cable though. At first when I saw the phone I didn’t like the look but now I think it looks pretty cute. The sad part of this story is my dad got it in pink so I’m forced to use it…. I can give it to my mom I suppose but my dad got it for me so I’d feel bad. I hate how the touch screen is only for dialing too. But it’s not even good, maybe my thumb is too fat, but i always hit the wrong numbers
idk what to say about thsi phone.. so far – i don’t like it.
November 6th, 2009
I got this phone a few months ago, and i would like to say, DO NOT GET THIS PHONE! It turns off randomly during texts and is super slow. My friend also got the same phone, and complains that it also turns off.
November 7th, 2009
hi everyone i can’t download games on my lg neon has anybody managed to do that? please help
November 9th, 2009
My girlfriend an I have this stupid phone too. They both act up just the same as everyone elses. Our phones are through rogers and they said the only thing they can do for us is keep sending it in for repairs. also the little white dots on your phone and battery tells them weather your have water damage or not if it is pink they won’t help you, your screwed even if your phone has never been wet and you know that for a fact. but those little dots are pink they wont fix your phone. but here is the kicker…. they will sell you a new phone at regular price starting at $100 what a bunch of theifs
I say just keep sending your phones in for repair the more people do it maybe they will get the hint and maybe put out a recall. Tell your friends and whoever you know that has this phone send it in for repairs get a loner phone and lets flood them with our SHIT PHONES!
November 10th, 2009
I do have Same Problems like all other ppl here. I got this phone about 5 months ago. First time it worked fine, but now it
1. randomly shuts off while txting
2. often i can not hear (or speak) to other person on the phone
This phone is stupid. Also This phone has not been near water since i bought it (and i know this for fact), but still shows me that stupid dot. Anyway, DONT BUY THIS PHONE if you are planning to buy this phone, and if you already have these… o well gg
November 14th, 2009
I have the Lg Neon, but i wanna take the photos off of it and put it on my comp any advie?!
November 16th, 2009
I like this phone. I am however wondering where do you get the headphones.
November 17th, 2009
Mine keeps turning off while i’m in the middle of using it. It happened 4 times in a row yesterday. As soon as i turned it back on it would turn off again. I was vey frustrated. My brother got the same phone and his does the same. I am going in to Fido today to see if they are going to do anything about it.
November 18th, 2009
Today I dropped my phone. No damage to the screen, though on the mirror by the camera has a hole. It was on, but after the drop the screen stopped working but the keys were still lighted up. It vibrated, but the screen wasn’t working and I couldn’t read the text my friend told me she sent. I tried caplin my phone using the house phone and it came through even though there was no ringtone.
Many ppl said theyres a thing that indicates your phone was dropped in water, and that itd be orange. I looked at it, and mine IS orange even tho it’s never been close to water. I’m beyond the date to switch to another phone free. This is my 3rd of neon the first two kept turning off(). What should I do?
November 18th, 2009
I have noticed that 95% of the complaints on here are covered in the user manual that is available at fido.ca. If you can’t be bothered to spend 15 minutes going over the manual for something you spend a decent amount of cash on you deserve the frustration.
November 19th, 2009
My hubby and I have had this phone since June, and I’m already on a replacement handset. The plan I have through ATT comes with the “Social Net” which allows you to access facebook, twitter, email, im, etc. from your phone. But the old handset would randomly go to the facebook app and stay there for hours. Naturally, the phone would lock up, and it was very hard to get out of it without turning off my phone. Needless to say, the battery life is now terrible.
Other major problems:
- our chargers emit a high-pitched whine when plugged in (like your ears are ringing, but they’re not)
- the radio signal from the phone is ridiculous – we can’t put it anywhere near stereo equipment/speakers, the car radio or our computer without getting loads of feedback
- Like other people, I’ve experienced slow connection, especially when checking voicemail. I usually have to play the first message over, because I won’t hear the first 10 – 15 seconds of the message.
The other problems I’ve had are just annoying, but I wouldn’t call them major issues. Overall, the phone works fine, and I really like some of the features, especially the text messaging capabilities.
November 25th, 2009
how do you change the color of the yellow folders ?
November 27th, 2009
To Neon old pro, what are you talking about??? How are the problems that EVERYONE experiencing explained in the manual???? I checked it out and all it covers is how to use the phone (in case ure stupid and cant figure it out) but discusses nothing about the problems.
November 28th, 2009
i bought this phone on september 3rd, for school. and 3 weeks later, my screen broke, all these lines showed up on it. i called rogers, took my phone in, said repair would take up to 3weeks. so i waited, no one called, i called them back, they said that it’s not in yet, but theyd call when it was. so i waited again, for TWO MORE WEEKS. it STILL wasn’t in! then a week later, one of the guys from rogers called me and said that they couldnt fix it, in order for them to fix my screen i needed to pay them 98$$. I WAITED, THAT LONG, TO FIND OUT THAT MY PHONE WAS NOT FIXED. i totally flipped out on these guys. i just got my phone back last week, my screen is FINALLY fixed, but now somethings wrong with my keyboard :@ this is seriously the worst phone i’ve ever bought

December 5th, 2009
I figured out how to get custom ringtones on my LG Neon from Fido. I think the software/hardware versions affect if it works or not. I use the normal Neon, black with some orange.
1. Go to mp3 player and play the default song “Beautiful Sky”
2. Options> Search> The song you want to use. DO NOT PLAY IT
3. Options> Set as> Ring tone/Message tone.
I’m not sure if it will work with Rogers or AT&T but it definitely works on Fido, Rev 1.2, TE365FAT_00_V10B. To check your version, go to Settings> Phone information
Also, I really don’t experience any of the problems you guys mention. Maybe you have too much stuff on your phone memory or something. Delete your text messages.
Good luck and much love;
-TheMadHatter
December 6th, 2009
Hey TheMadHatter…
your workaround worked for me too (Fido, different software version though)
it is extremely finicky.. I got it to work just once, and it wasnt the song I initially wanted haha
i cant seem to be able to exploit the bug again.. and unfortunately this method would never work while trying to set custom ringtones for your contacts
everyone should try it out tho
December 6th, 2009
@Keenan
Glad to have been of help.
It seems to work on mine whenever I need it to, but maybe you could try reconverting your MP3s to MP3s again. I remember that I had that problem when I was trying to use the MP3-player when I first got my Neon. You can try WAV files too, except they use a lot of memory.

My question has been really bugging me. Is there anyway to set my Mp3 as a ringtone (I have At&t so I hope it’s possible)
December 8th, 2009
@Lyndsay
Have you tried the method I posted above? You could try it on AT&T because ‘Beautiful Sky’ is LG’s default song, not Fido’s. You should have it, and I think the AT&T interface is similar to that of Fido’s. Give it a try and post results.

Anyone know how to get music on to the phone ?
PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL IF YOU KNOW ;

I like the phone beside the intense lag, but for some reason whenever I try to call someone- I cannot hear them for a while then sound suddenly turns on in time to hear the angry person on the other end yelling my name. This has happened since I got it, in the beginning, I would only miss like one dail tone, but it keeps getting worse and now people are answering before I can hear them. It was a free upgrade but if I need a new phone, the price will be ridiculous. I think warranty expired so I cannot get it fixed. Any ideas?
December 10th, 2009
does anyone know how to change the numbers on your speed dial cause… i put someone on twice without noticing
December 11th, 2009

TheMadHatter’s steps don’t work for the LG Neon Blue. At least, not for mine. Though I haven’t yet tried with a file under 300mb.
December 17th, 2009
okay well, the LG Neon is very expensive and it only has the key pad which is touch screen. I think that that the whole phone should be touch. Why only the key pad? seriously! When you send ringtones to your LG Neon as an attachment, it won’t let you open the file at all, so you can’t get your ringtone! Isn’t that mess up! It doesn’t even come with a cord to connect with your computer. You have to buy it separately. You can’t even get a texting signature which all phones usually have. I think this phone needs to be improved more and be more sufficient.
December 19th, 2009
I am having such a shit time with this phone. 80% of the time when I am calling someone I cant hear anything until they have said hello several times and I have to apologize profusely for my phone. I can’t call work from my phone for this reason, so it has become more of an expensive phone book.
It is very slow but as everyone else has said, the battery lasts for a long time.
I don’t even press the two buttons to unlock it, I just slide it open.
Very disappointing phone.
December 19th, 2009
I’ve had my phone with fido since april or so…
didnt come with any cables except charger which sucked, but i’ve been working around it with bluetooth and microsd with no problems…
i dont know what y’all do with your phones but… i was working outside when i got my phone, its been wet, dirty, dusty, muddy, thrown, dropped and this morning one of my dogs got to it while it was charging and ripped the little charge hole cover off…
the cover off is the first visible damage the phone has taken, with the exception of some scuff marks on the camera mirror.
Even with the abuse its taken its never died on me or anything, and now thanks to mad hatter i can have mp3’s for rings tones!
i am thinking of getting a xenon and giving this to my boyfriend…
all in all a good phone from my experience.. much tougher than my sony ericson, which had all of the problems mentioned above by the way…
December 20th, 2009
Got the mp3 file to work, after using a different method. It’s a great phone so far for me! I was shoved and dropped it, and it still worked perfectly without even the slightest scratch. (:
December 21st, 2009
Bought the LG neon…. not only does it shut itself down frequently, has a super slow start-up, saves all my pictures at a 180 degree angle, it refuses to play mp3 ringtones, the speakerphone is pathetic and among other problems this phone fried my sim card after I’d had it 3 weeks. Would love to take it back right now
December 22nd, 2009
i am really liking my new phone
December 23rd, 2009
Ok all, I have found an answer to using custom ringtones on this LG Neon phone. I happen to be reading through all these posts and I finally found it.
December 23rd, 2009
ok lets get some stuff straight, 1) you cant make it fully touch screen. its only touch for the dialer so that means 2/3rds of the screen isnt a touch intuitive. 2) it is common knowledge that you can put mp3s on a micro sd card and play them. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT. 3) a bonus is it supports mp4 play back. so you could put like 4gb of video in mp4 format on you micro sd card and play it on your phone. battery would drain in an hour 1/2 or so but just sayin. but with the screen its got it could be a very nice video player very nice. give it a break you pay for what you get it is cheap and for the features its got its a relatively good phone so shut it. it doesnt claim to be an iphone or blackberry so cram it. it is a good phone for what its used for. i give it a 9 out of 10. a 9 because its sometimes lag and rather small battery but you can buy a replacment thats better. and the obviuos fact that they dont provide “their” special earbuds. so yay its an alright phone.
December 26th, 2009
yo i got the phone and i think its great
one question i cant get games on it i got the MICROSD card but when i put the games on there they install great bu when i go to play them it says this “the MIDlet could not be initiated:
Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
and it says it with every game i have tried any help?
December 26th, 2009
I’m with FIDO.
I stress you cannot use your own mp3’s as ring tones. This is done so that you can spend $$$$ downloading them from Fido.
Cheers
December 26th, 2009
how do u tell if there is water damage…is there a dot on the phone to or just the batarie
December 28th, 2009
does anyone know how to view full web pages on this thing? i just want to get my facebook without it telling me i am out of memory and kicking me out of the full site
December 28th, 2009
i have so many questions about the lg neon.
to start i wanted to know if i can use the touch pad to text? like it gets kind of annoying having to pull out the key board all the time but if i have to then i will.
Another important question i have ringtones set for my text messages and i get the ringtones from myxertones.com its not a bad site i have never had problems with it,but for some reason it doesnt play the full part of the song that i picked out,i mean it really buggs me it has to be like 5 seconds of it not even.if you can answer any of my questions please email me at kcspoiledrotten@aol.com
thank you so much!
December 29th, 2009
i have this phone, its really easy to upload songs onto this actually. you just take take out your memory card and buy one of those r4 plug ins. plug your sim into it and plug it into your computer. a file will then pop out, and just drag your songs in
;; ;
im having a huge problem with the sim thing. if you have this phone NEVER click on teh security thing . now everytime i take out my sim it locks it and i have to type in the security code EVERY single time T____T fml . LOL .
December 31st, 2009
uMM…
can somebody tell me how transfer music from my computer to my lg neon without using a usb cable.. this sucks .. PLEASE RESOND SOON!!!!!!!!!!
January 3rd, 2010
I am having the same problem as JB with the calling and people having to say hello many times without even a ring in my ear.
This phone sucks…don’t get it
January 5th, 2010
Forget the $50 cable or swapping micro SD memory cards. Bluetooth is the way to go. You can get a “dongle” from places like dealextreme for under 3 bucks delivered (really!) It looks like a super tiny thumbdrive. Plug it in and follow the manual on Fido.

I have the same issue with the talking and you not hearing the person on the other side. I just got this phone recently, I think it’s an alright phone. I just wish it was able to use custom ringtones without going through some trouble. It is a bit frustrating when it lags, and the start-up takes a while. Also, multimedia messages seem to take forever to be retrieved and my phone only came with a charger.
January 24th, 2010
my lg xexon is awesome!
January 29th, 2010
I have this phone and it is extremely frustrating. Who only lets you store 500 messages? Pisses me off. It also randomly turns off and lags like crazy. But for the people saying they didn’t get a manual, it has an online one, read all the papers you got. And don’t bother spending your money to get it fixed, I tried that, they charged me $50 and did nothing.

To set i ringtone people say to go to the camera button on the side and then it’s supposed to go to an option menu. i just got mine 2day and i don’t know what i did bcuz it used to do that and now it doesn’t. How do i fix it so that it will go to another menu and not straight to the camera?

Hey everyone, wouldn’t it be nice to not have to use the supplied headset cord with this phone? Well what about a Bluetooth headset to listen to your tunes?
I stumbled upon something today when trying to figure out if I could play my MP3s on my Bluetooth headset with this phone. Granted I found a way after a few hours tinkering.
You will not be able to listen to your radio as the cord of the ear buds has an integrated antenna but heres how it works:
1.Start up your phone nomally.
2.Make sure your Bluetooth headset is connected.
3.Make a phone call to your voicemail. (actually any phone call will do you should hear it ringing in the headset)
4.Open your keyboard and press 1. (It won’t let you press any numbers while it is ringing, hence call your voicemail)
5.Then press the GREEN call button.
6.Your call should end.
And done. If done correctly ALL sounds that your phone makes should be going through your bluetooth headset. This includes key sounds and even MP3 songs. They will NOT be coming from your phone anymore.
Let me know if this works for anyone else. Or maybe there is an easier way to do this that I don’t know about.

How do I get message drafts onto a micro SD card from my phone? I’m a writer, and I recently bought the card to be able to transfer my writing on the go without having to sit there and type everything on the computer from my phone (which takes hours).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
March 6th, 2010
i dont understand how you dont know how to set an mp3 as a ringtone, i bought this phone on orange as it was out of stock at the o2 store, i then unlocked it to o2.
straight away i went to:
Profiles > Normal > Personalise > Ringtones > External Device, and chose the song i wanted
Did the same for mp3 message tones too

April 12th, 2010
Worse fone ever!
April 13th, 2010
Do not buy this phone. It looks fairly new in the us. But was released in Australia As the webslider. I own one. Read webslider reviews. Then decide if you want it. It is the shittest phone ive ever owned. Dont do it. Its the exact same phone. Just dont.
April 20th, 2010
I’ve had this phone for seven months and I absoluty hate it. It frequently shits down on me and is excessivly slow. Granted it is more durable and sturdy then the nokias Ive owned previously it still lacks in performance. I will most likely not be sticking with an LG phone next upgrade…
April 20th, 2010
Oh and just to add to the problems, I forgot to mention that when I’m texting at a decently fast pace the ‘l,o,k,m’ letters malfunction and often change my position in the sentence. The worst being the ‘o’ button which sends you up a row. This phone is absolutly a worthless pile of crap and I would strongly advise people to refrain from buying it.
April 24th, 2010
have had my fone for 4 months
have the automatic shut off, but only happens wen its damp
cant open certain emails but otherwise am very happy with the phone and yes it does do speed dial
one other thing wen i got my phone,i got the headset with it in the box, amazing sound, better than my koss headphones
April 24th, 2010
there a little image of a phone near the green talk button
press it and the touchscreen shows up
to change the t9 there is an icon above the three on the touchscreen
April 28th, 2010
Does anybody know how to lock messages on this phone? I hate having to go through them one by one and deleting the ones I don’t want, and deleting the ones I want to keep.
April 28th, 2010
i had this fone for about a year now and i have a usb cord for the lg neon but how do you down load the music to the phone???? please email bak at kashiya11@hotmail.com thanzx
April 28th, 2010
this to gabby u cant reord and set as ringtone which suckz!!!!!!!!!!
May 10th, 2010
how do you atach a photo to an email
May 16th, 2010
The LG Neon sucks. It will turn off randomly with no warning–especially when you are waiting for an important call, it has a real knack for that.
75% of the webpages you go to the phone using will get a message from the phone and then it suddenly takes you offline without warning. The getting offline takes a full minute-why? I’m getting offline, not searching for something?.
You can’t see youtube video’s on the phone. Or any video’s for that matter. Supposedly the phone has java but it doens’t recognize it??
Here’s something that makes no sense whatsover: you can’t make your own ringtone. Yes, att has a stupid website and “make your own tone” but it is stupid as hell because it is not really your own tune. My daughter plays guitar and texts me over her playing something. I should be able to make that her ringtone. But no, att wants me to choose one of theirs. Thats stupid.
Here’s something else. You can open MSN chat and get online at the same time. You can also get a phone call in the midst of this. Pretty cool huh? What’s the downside? Well, if someone texts you and you are online, you get a message on your phone that so-and-so has sent you a message and asks if you want to read the message now. BUT if you don’t catch the text at that instant, you have to get offline to go to your text inbox. That’s straight up retarded. Try calling att or LG and they both bitch about each other and blame each other.
WARNING: don’t buy this phone. You will regret it.
If you see a gushing review of this phone, remember, att is paying people to go online and chat positively about their products.
May 19th, 2010
mystic!! u can kinda change the theme by
*go to menu
*settings
*display
*color schemes
* then you can change it to white.
also as a tip just mess around with your settings. u can change how big the letters are or different kind of clocks.
Hope I helped out many people!!
May 19th, 2010
well anyway, i dont use bluetooth or whatever. i have the lg neon by at&t, so it doesnt have a mp3 player. so sorry i might not have helped.
May 23rd, 2010
Overall I think the LG Neon is a very good phone for the price. The newer, Xenon, for example, is quite a bit more expensive with minimal improvements over the Neon. Really the only significant change is the 16GB external memory max, instead of 4GB for the Neon. The camera resolution is the same, and the web experience is the same. It has a flash for the camera which I guess has some value.
As a casual texter, I think the slide out qwerty keyboard is wonderful! The screen size to phone size ratio is nice as well. Could you have any more functionality without making the phone bigger? When LG makes something with at least a 3.2 mp camera (hopefully more) I’ll think about upgrading. Until then this suits me fine.
One problem I’ve noticed is when changing the volume while using the headset while on a call. A few times, but not every time, the phone froze in this situation and made that entering the matrix sound, as if the processor was overloaded. After about 30 seconds or so operation resumed without having to restart it. Has anyone else had this issue?
May 23rd, 2010
One more thing. I (as well as my divorce lawyer) love the ability to record calls, but does anyone know of a way to stop it from beeping every few seconds when recording?
June 6th, 2010
This phone was a HUGE disappointment.
Here are the most major issues I encountered:
First of all, it is extremely laggy and balky, and frequently freezes for several seconds, especially when I slide it open.
Secondly, the data storage on this phone is about as efficient and logical as a jet plane fueled with baking soda and vinegar. Nothing on the phone memory can be stored on the SIM card – not even the address book, really, since the SIM card save only one number per name and loses all the extra information like secondary numbers, groups, emails, pictures, etc, etc associated with each contact. When I replaced my first unit I lost EVERYTHING on my phone except the stripped-down address book. It doesn’t even come with a cord to hook up to my computer. Supposedly one exists, but doesn’t work well with macs (as in, it’s designed to work with macs, it just sucks). To back up any of my information or store any files of any serious size, I have to buy a microSD card, a microSD card adapter, a USB adapter for the microSD adapter… And it doesn’t even allow more than 4GB cards, which makes the only one I have useless! Are you fucking kidding me? This is the best data storage/transfer system they could come up with?
Maybe this sort of set-up is standard for modern phones, but that’s hardly an excuse. This is just ridiculous.
Most aggravatingly, the sound on my first unit went on the fritz after only a few months. It would go off for no reason, and the only way to get the sound working again would be to shut it off and restart the phone. Then it stopped picking up sound from outgoing calls – Every time I made a call, I would have to wait 20+ seconds after the connection was made to actually begin hearing the other person (they could hear me fine). I had to replace this unit barely half a year after getting it, and unfortunately I am still stuck with the LG neon model. Wonder how long this one will last?
Even the plastic case that goes with it is shoddy: the glue that holds the screen cover to the front part of the case was loose when I took it out of the package, and after weeks of trying to get it to stick I just gave up and took it off.
My usage of this phone is very limited and undemanding, and I can’t believe how poorly it performs under those conditions. The engineering and programming of this phone is shameful.
I will not be purchasing LG phones in the future.
June 14th, 2010
can anyone tell me if I can transfer my address book into the address book in my car?
June 18th, 2010
I have the lg neon TE 365 and i put a code on it and i forgot what can i do?
June 25th, 2010
I bought this phone unlocked at Pacific Mall last summer, and it has been a piece of junk. It holds a ridiculously small amount of text messages (something like 500 combined sent and received)—it’s a fucking texting phone!!! I should have the option to use the microSD card to store unlimited texts, or it should at least just push out the oldest text to make room for a new one when it fills up, like my old Samsung flip phone FROM 2006! Instead, when it fills up, it just tells me that it’s full and would I like to send a multimedia text? NO! So then I have to go in, select all the texts, delete them, and wait 5 minutes for it to do that, before I can send another freaking text.
It turns off at random, which makes no sense.
The built-in ring tones are awful.
It’s SLOWWWWW. Everything you do has a delay. Especially when you press the green button on the front to go through recent/missed/received calls, literally each time you press down to go through the list it takes half a second to respond.
All in all this phone is terrible. When I bought it, a friend (who has had a shit-ton of cell phones) told me “LG phones suck,” but I figured hey, it has a QWERTY pad, and how can it be worse than my Samsung flip phone FROM 2006 (which capitalized every word you enter into a text unless you press shift)?!?!
Well, I was wrong. This phone is worse than that one. It is laughably bad. I got it because I was through with my Bell contract and wanted to have an unlocked phone to take between providers at my discretion. Sure, I can do that, but I don’t even care anymore because it’s so awful. I’ll now gladly sign a 3-year and pay $200 for an iPhone 4 just so that I can put this piece of shit to rest.
DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. DO NOT EVEN ACCEPT THIS PHONE FOR FREE.
June 28th, 2010
i baught this phone for 75$ . & i Love it . but dose anyone know where i can download free themes for this phone ?
June 29th, 2010
This phone is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
June 29th, 2010
I love this phone
June 29th, 2010
I’ve had this phone now for about 8 months, but it went it first came out. I haven’t had any problems with it really, until now. It turns off randomly, I put a piece of tape between the battery and back cover because apparently LG sucks at making there battery fit into place correctly, I thought it fixed it but today the same problem still exists. I don’t feel like it’s the battery though, my phone is on and fine, I write a text, pick who to send it to in my contacts, then the MOMENT i click send it turns off. What the hell is wrong with it?
Oh and also I bought a USB cable for my ringtones, went to Myxer.com which is free , I save it to my computer and drag it to the USB file on “my computer” if that helps any of you.
As for headphones/headset, I bought a device that fits into where you plug the charger in without a power chord attatched though, just a hole to plug your headphones into.
Hope this helps some, if anyone knows anything about preventing the phone from turning off please let me know!!! It sucks!
June 29th, 2010
@Nick you have completely and totally hit the nail on the head with this crappy phone. It’s the worst phone I’ve ever had the displeasure of owning. I also bought it out-right so I could be free of contracts, but I’d be happy to sign a contract to get a good phone for the same cost.
June 29th, 2010
please help! i have had my lg neon for about 5 or 6 months with no problems. I put a sandisk 2gm micro sd in my phone about a month ago, put music and pictures and stuff on it. Everything worked fine until this morning al my files that were saved on my sd card were gone. I ejected the sandisk and put it back in and it says that the card is in, but after that it acts like its not. None of my files are there, nothing can be saved onto the card ect. When i try and check the memory status of the card it says “Not supported!” , i dont understand because it used to work just fine. if you have help email bindininja@live.com
June 29th, 2010
also, is it possible to make everything touch?
June 29th, 2010
and why does it turn off randomly?
July 1st, 2010
OMG where do I start? I HATE THIS PHONE. WORST PHONE i have EVER owned. I had a Razr that got damaged in a freak accident so I had to get the neon as a temporary phone until i could get something better. I liked it the first week or so I had it, but ever since, it has been absolutely terrible. It shuts off 5-10 times a day and I don’t even use my phone all that much. It takes SOOOO long to start back up and when the home screen comes up, it pops up a “WAIT!” message that pisses me off. I don’t want to wait! When I call someone or receive a call, I can’t hear anything on the other end. No ringer. No voice. When I do get a connection, the phone shuts off in the middle of the conversation like I hung up on them. Texting is super slow and the symbol/function inputs are annoying when adding punctuation and numbers. It takes forever to delete messages and you can’t save important messages. The ringtones are a hassle to deal with, The touch screen is pointless and pretty much laughable. I’ll be getting the motorola i1 soon. Can’t wait to get rid of this piece of junk. DON’T BUY THIS PHONE unless you want a headache every time you use it.
July 6th, 2010
this PHONE IS A PIECE OF CRAP. DO NOT GET IT. I made a mistake in getting it, and have had to suffer the consequences since. It shuts off, it freezes, it won’t load things. PIECE OF CRAP. it’s only use should be as a paper holder. HORRIBLE.
July 9th, 2010
had one for a year. really have no problems but I agree with a lot of the configuration and storage problems I’ve read here. LG makes very poor products as a whole when it comes to electronics. DO NOT BUY LG ELECTRONICS.
p.s. my phone will shut off if I close the keyboard to hard. has been like that since I got it so I just close it carefully and alls good.
July 9th, 2010
Does anyone know why it shuts off randomly and wont let me send pictures? or what the hell “Emergency only” is?
July 10th, 2010
WORST PHONE EVER. to delete your inbox or outbox it takes about 10 minutes and when its dont deleting it freezes up on you so you need to take out the battery and when you have more than about 100 messages in your messaging box you try to make calls but it freezes up and the other person is on the other end saying hello a thousand times and you cant hear them til 16 seconds and by the time you hear them it already disconnects. it also shuts off randomlly and restarts also if im trying to send a text when i press send it shuts off? i saw this from the beginning but i went through 3 phones already of the lg neon and at&t just decided to send me a new model the pantect impact hopefully this will be not a mistake. oh and it only holds like 10-15 pictures and 500 messages total in your inbox&outbox.
July 16th, 2010
I just git this phone last week and loved it until I discovered that when i call people or they call me..they can’t hear me!! It’s driving me insane!! I can hear them just fine!
July 20th, 2010
hey guys well here are full specs on this phone and some tips
first
-the one layout formnat is 220x-330x
-this one only plays mp3 format songs
-this one only uses touch for dialing
helpfull hints
Unlocking your phone, if you acidently remove that battery and do not know your phone password
step one
Remove battery and sim for about 3 minites(this takes time as your phone has a internal battery to keep info for a short amount of time)
Step two
affter time is up put sim and battery back in phone and start it up
Hint 2
Playing music and songs…you MUST have a micro simcard the music will not play off internal memory, the first thing to do when planning music is go to main screen of the menue pic tools, and pic MP3 it will have a option on helping you extract music from your micro
Hint 3 THERE ARE NO THEAMS TO DOWNLOAD OFF THE INTERNET you must buy them from Fido Store located in your phone menue
Hint 4
Music and raido headsets, thease can be bought at any fido store and/or orderd from the fido branch they are not sold in electronic stores like the sorce or any mall.
and for the question above me, Molko you can change thos settings on the side of your one call your hous4e number and when talkning press the sound valume to turn your voice up,
i hoped this helped

I agree this phone is garbage. Mine has a mind of it`s one it only works when it wants to, it always shuts off, hangs up on people and the eithere flickers on or off either that or the screen is so dim I can`t see who is calling or text messaging me. I have took it in twice there should be a recall on it. A couple of my friends have the same problems with this phone as well. Definatly don`t buy it it a piece of junk.

August 15th, 2010
How Do I Change Speed Dial? Please Help!
August 17th, 2010
For anyone who has just bought this phone a warning: RETURN IT. Get a year into this stupid phone and it will quit on you. I used to like the LG neon until it turned a year old. Now it only works when the sim card is NOT in, which is useless. And all it does is flash on the TE365 screen with the red circle. Cant use it…Cant do anything with it. Not to mention it shuts off randomly and the battery life is insignificant. So disappointed in this phone and I think that LG should just give up making useless technology. Kthanks.
August 27th, 2010
all i have to say is that this phone SUCKS
September 2nd, 2010
The phone is alright, shuts down randomly, lags badly (when I call people, I usually cannot hear their first hello, because the phone hasn’t caught up yet). But as far as ringtones go, the mp3 just needs to be under 300kb in order for it to recognize it as a ringtone, which is stupid considering some factory tones are over 500kb.
What is Your Opinion?
