  1. What phone do you have? And do you want to actually view the document on your phone, or are you intending to use your phone as a means of storage for your Word document? Maybe you can change the extension of the Word document to JPG on your computer, then transfer the file to your phone, then if you intend to view the document on your phone, and if your phone is actually able to do it, change the extension back to DOC. Some phones will only accept a few file types, one of them being JPG. Whereas smartphones will generally accept all file types. But from the sounds of it, yours is not a smartphone. And about changing the file extension on the phone which I just described, you can only really do that on a smartphone. If you just want to store the file on your phone, then you could just change the extension to JPG and send it to your phone, then leave it. It should work.

  2. Some phones you can – some you cant. Most symbian or smart phones will do it.
Alot of phones will hold the file for you but because it doesn’t have any software to read it it would show that the file is unsupported. However you should then be able to send this on to what ever source you need after…. like using the phone as a usb storage device.
If you want to actually view the document on the phone, from the sounds of it, this isn’t likely to happen.
